Job Description Summary:

Xoom, a PayPal service, is looking for a Sr. Java Backend developer that can join to Platform team, a team with high coding and performance standards. If you are looking for new challenges and willing to work with high skilled people this is your opportunity. The team is in charge of develop and maintain Java APIs based applications to be used by the platform-based products. As a member of the team you will use Java, Spring, MySQL, Docker, MQ technologies and much more; also you will be part of the design and developing of RESTful APIs.

We offer a secure, fast and inexpensive means of sending money, paying bills and topping up prepaid services across multiple digital platforms to both online and offline recipients.

Responsibilities

·         Deliver software development tasks efficiently and with high quality

·         Produce well-tested code through the use of automated, unit, and integration tests

·         Participates in feature code reviews as requested

·         Refactor legacy code to make it more efficient and inline with current standards

·         Participate in the agile working sessions (planning, grooming, etc)

·         Participate on the design of new features on new and current systems

·         Be part of the on-call schedule, this means, be available 24/7 for 1 week periodically

Requirements

·         3-5 years of experience

·         Experience working with API's

·         Experience working with Spring, Maven, Git, Jenkins and Atlassian stack (e.g. jira)

·         Experience with Agile development and knowledge of Agile principles

Education

·         Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related
