About the role

A Sr Java Software Developer works on all parts of Automated Logic’s building automation system, encompassing Java-centric server, web client, mobile, desktop, and database technologies. They possess a strong work ethic, advanced problem-solving skills, and the drive to create leading-edge, scalable, and maintainable software solutions.

As a senior team member, this individual will take responsibility for major project components and oversee them through to completion. A Senior Java Software Developer should also have an appetite for learning new technologies with the goal of applying them to Automated Logic’s product offerings and instructing others about their use and benefits

Key responsibilities

• Develop software solutions using Agile methodologies and approaches that satisfy user stories/requirements.
• Participate in project planning by investigating solutions to problems and providing the best estimates.
• Apply new technologies to advance the company’s product offerings.
• Aid sustaining efforts by providing product knowledge and consultation.

Education

BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field required.

Experience

• 5+ years of applicable software development experience.
• Expertise in Java programming.
• Proficiency in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Experience with unit and functional testing.
• Proficiency in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, jQuery, Angular, Ajax, JSP, Java servlets, and other web-based technologies.
• Experience with Gradle.
• Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and logical reasoning skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to multi-task and stay organized in a dynamic environment.
