Sr Lead Security Software Engineer

The API Security team within Cyber Security Org is chartered to facilitate enablement of secure defaults in applications, platform, and infrastructure by building & integrating solutions along with security consulting with other teams. The solutions could vary from web security filters, core security libraries, crypto abstractions, security automations, and integrations of API security products in our tech stack and platform. The technology stack consists of Java/Spring based microservices deployed on containers, in the compute clusters on both on-prem and on-cloud.

The Sr Lead Security Software Engineer is expected to build & integrate security libs/filters and solutions for application & platform security. They are expected to be self-starters, have a strong work ethic, leverage analytical and critical thinking and be resourceful in working as part of a global team. The role requires interfacing with other business units so the candidate must have strong verbal and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, Code and Integrate application & platform security solutions in our tech stack to enable security & privacy by default.
• Consult with Application Development & platform teams on the best security & privacy practices.
• Identifies and analyzes security needs, define and document the same with an action plan to execute those.
• Oversees the configuration, customization, diagnoses, and enhancements for application & platform software.
• Performs detailed design and code reviews and addresses findings appropriately.
• Coaches, reviews and delegates work to junior engineers.

Required skills.

• 5+ years of experience working as a Software Development Engineer.

• 3+ years of experience in developing secure RESTful APIs and Microservices.
• 3+ years of experience with at least one JVM based language (Java, Scala, Kotlin, etc.)
• 2+ years of experience in Spring framework.

Preferred Skills

• Strong understanding of basic symmetric and asymmetric encryption techniques.
• Strong understanding of database concepts, and SQL queries (DBMS preferred).
• Solid understanding of OWASP Top 10+2 and secure coding practices.
• Experience working on both open source and integrating vendor products.

• Experience working in containers and multi-cloud platforms.
• Understanding of Web authentication and API Security
• Experience with automation tools

Base Pay Range: $152,200/yr. - $253,600/yr.

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary of internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary incentive programs, non-annual sales incentive plans, or other non-annual incentive plans).
