Overview
In this highly visible role, you'll be the link between our Operations and Finance teams for the fastest growing private company in Massachusetts. The position will help establish and manage our accounting operations with a focus on delivering accurate and timely information required to manage our scaling business. The Sr Manager will drive continuous improvement in our Order-to-Cash process. Additionally, this person will ensure timely upkeep of TMS (transportation management system) information to our accounting system and ensure that our carrier partners are being paid in a timely manner and our customers are being billed accurately. You will have regular interaction with internal client management and support teams.

Responsibilities
- Partner with the VP of Finance to provide strategic thought leadership to the C-suite
- Understand the pain points of customers and carriers and implement processes that make it easy for customers to pay
- Develop policies, procedures and processes with internal support teams, then implement and enforce globally (continuous improvement cycle)
- Optimize the order to cash cycle by partnering with tech and operations to streamline the process
- Hire and develop an accounting support organization
- Manage a team of offshore resources
- Provide leadership in the month end close process
- Lead our annual review/audit processes
- Coordinate with our outside tax advisors to ensure Federal / State compliance
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- 5-7+ years work experience in related role (Controller, Sr. Manager, Assistant Controller)
- Experience optimizing an order to cash process
- Experience managing working capital (AR / AP)
- Detail oriented, highly organized, and able to meet deadlines
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel and other MS Office applications
- Ability to work cross-functionally, both internally and externally
- Experience working at a fast-paced company
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Background in Supply Chain / Logistics a plus but not required
