Sr Manager, Data Engineering

Roblox Operating System (ROS) is the internal productivity platform that governs how we operate as a company. Via a holistic and integrated set of tools, ROS shapes our talent and personnel decisions, how work is planned and organized, how communication and knowledge is discovered, and ultimately how we scale effectively.

Shift Time: 2:00pm - 10:30pm IST (Cabs will be provided)

Your Role:

As a Senior Engineering Manager reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, you will be a trailblazer, building and leading a high-performing engineering team in India. Your team will initially focus on data engineering, but will eventually expand to work across all internal products. You will set a high technical bar, champion Roblox's leadership principles, and drive the delivery of innovative products that delight our users.

• Strategic Planning: Contribute to the overall engineering strategy for Roblox India. Find opportunities for innovation and growth, and prioritize projects that deliver the most value to our users.
• Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement within your team. Encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and adoption of new technologies.

You Have:

• Proven Leadership: Demonstrated experience leading and scaling engineering teams, ideally in a high-growth environment.
• Technical Expertise: Deep understanding of data engineering principles, architectures, and technologies. Experience with modern data stacks (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Roblox Alignment: Strong alignment with Roblox's leadership principles, including a focus on respect, safety, creativity, and community.
• Excellent Communication: Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to build rapport with team members, stakeholders, and leaders across the organization.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to break down complex challenges and develop creative solutions.
