What We’re Looking For:

As the Sr Manager of Diagnostics & Evaluation, you will lead the team responsible for interviewing and selecting the highest caliber of instructional candidates to join our Boot Camp instructional community across all programs. This person will gather and analyze all available data including but not limited to instructional evaluation, diagnostics, and key performance indicators for all potential and active instructional staff. They will utilize data insights to operationalize and validate learning pathways to broaden the scope of candidates that can impact students. This person will own the success of the technical and pedagogical assessment teams and create a roadmap for the team to identify instructional pathways that are both effective and efficient. 

 

The Sr Manager of Diagnostics & Evaluation will need to be adaptable to ever-changing team and company needs, a proven leader, and willing to understand a complex system to create new and innovative tools to increase our instructional capacity for learning and facilitation. A successful candidate will have three to five years of experience in data management at an academic institution preferred. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to evaluate data, assess alternatives, and make appropriate decisions and recommendation and experience in project and/or database management. They will think critically about instructional opportunities for growth and ensure effective communication amongst all key stakeholders. 

Key Role and Responsibilities: 

Systems and Operational Leadership

  • Lead and support our multinational and global Pedagogical and Technical Placement Teams to meet overall team goals in alignment with Product and Delivery goals
  • Build sustainable schedule and ensure capacity for team of evaluators across teams
  • Support team in determining that technical and pedagogical assessments are aligned with current requirements
  • Ensure effective training materials are provided to the team as needed to meet their personal and overall team goals
  • Communicating effectively with the Curriculum Teams, Instructional Design Team, and Field Implementation Team 

Data Collection and Analysis

  • Design the Data Infrastructure in accordance with rubrics, key performance indicators, and systems
  • Conduct data analysis end-to-end (collection, scrubbing, theming, visualization); fluency in data visualization software and spreadsheets recommended (Tableau, Qualtrics, Excel, Google Sheets, etc.)
  • Create complex charts and databases, perform statistical analyses, and develop graphs and tables for internal and external publication and presentation; present data analysis findings and results to internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide insight and strategy on Pedagogical and Technical data collection methods and content 
  • Overseeing team Data Collection practices 
  • Monitoring trends in assessment data across programs and reporting across Instructional Delivery
  • Analyzing instructional staff technical and pedagogical data for Instructional Product recommendations
  • Analyzing instructional staff technical and pedagogical data for instructional staff learning pathway recommendations

Instructional Diagnostics and Evaluation Execution 

  • Accountable to the creation and quality of any and all required assessment tasks to ensure instructional candidate experience is positive
  • Oversee the creation of  instructional learning recommendations for our Instructional candidates based on  performance to ensure we have multiple pathways into the classroom
  • Communicate with Regional Recruitment Teams with updates on Instructional Staff Progress in Pathways
  • Overseeing  the candidate experience through their pathways (share insights with Instructional Products and Experience, Regional Recruitment, Technical Team, Instructional Operations, Academic Management, and Implementation) 
  • Ensure best practices for Evaluation of Instructors both in person and online 
  • Collaboration with Curriculum and Design teams for program specific Evaluation materials 

Team and Organizational Expectations 

  • Knowledge and compliance to all edX Boot Camps policies and business goals
  • Participation in all meeting structures and staff expectations 
  • Act as spokesperson to both internal and external teams
  • Setting expectations for the continuation of Instructional Learning and Development.
  • Projects as assigned based on team needs 

 

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree (required) and 10+ years of work experience, prior experience in education, data management, recruitment, human resources, or as a teacher preferred, but not required
  • Experience with adult facilitation 
  • Willingness to work some weekends and evenings 
  • Demonstrated ability to generate creative solutions to lead to positive culture 
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral) and proven ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of constituents in a number of different settings
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to make timely decisions and demonstrate good judgment 
  • Exceptional customer service orientation, ability to tailor approach for different audiences
  • Agility and willingness to adapt to change, shift course, alter approaches and assume new responsibilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; comfort with various media (video, websites, etc.)

In Colorado, the anticipated base salary for this role is $106,000.00 with potential bonus and equity eligibility. Note: The final compensation for this position may consider factors including the geographic location where the work is performed (candidate’s assigned office) and prior work experience of the candidate.
