Sr Manager - Employee Communications

The Sr Manager - Employee Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of internal employee communications and management of communication platforms (including the company intranet and digital signage) in support of business needs. Â This position requires cross-functional collaboration with business unit leaders and the ability to effectively develop messaging that consistently represents our communications strategy and company culture.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manages internal employee communications by driving internal processes and guiding key stakeholders in the writing, editing and execution of articles and messaging through a variety of communication channels, as appropriate.
- Manages the design and content of the company intranet as well as digital signage in company buildings.
- Researches new tools and practices to stay abreast of the latest trends and platforms that may enhance the effectiveness of employee communication channels.
- Develops and maintains a forward-looking employee communication calendar and roadmap to drive specific content and deliver engaging, timely and compelling communications. Provides measurement and analysis on the effectiveness of employee communication programs.
- Coordinates with Strategic Communications team to ensure internal communications are aligned with social media postings, and urgent or time sensitive communications.
- Supports other HR initiatives as needs arise.
Qualifications:
- 8 years’ experience in internal/employee communications
- 2 years’ supervisory experience
- Advanced communication and collaboration skills
- Advanced proofreading, writing, and editing skills
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
- Ability to think and communicate a clear and concise narrative
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Proven attention to detail; diligent and extremely organized
- Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
- 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, a related field required, or equivalent work experience
This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.
The pay range is $132,500 - $179,300.
The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
