Sr Manager - Employee Communications

The Sr Manager - Employee Communications is responsible for the development and implementation of internal employee communications and management of communication platforms (including the company intranet and digital signage) in support of business needs.  This position requires cross-functional collaboration with business unit leaders and the ability to effectively develop messaging that consistently represents our communications strategy and company culture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manages internal employee communications by driving internal processes and guiding key stakeholders in the writing, editing and execution of articles and messaging through a variety of communication channels, as appropriate.
• Manages the design and content of the company intranet as well as digital signage in company buildings.
• Researches new tools and practices to stay abreast of the latest trends and platforms that may enhance the effectiveness of employee communication channels.
• Develops and maintains a forward-looking employee communication calendar and roadmap to drive specific content and deliver engaging, timely and compelling communications. Provides measurement and analysis on the effectiveness of employee communication programs.
• Coordinates with Strategic Communications team to ensure internal communications are aligned with social media postings, and urgent or time sensitive communications.
• Supports other HR initiatives as needs arise.

Qualifications:

• 8 years’ experience in internal/employee communications
• 2 years’ supervisory experience
• Advanced communication and collaboration skills
• Advanced proofreading, writing, and editing skills
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships at all levels of the organization
• Ability to think and communicate a clear and concise narrative
• Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
• Proven attention to detail; diligent and extremely organized
• Advanced computer skills including proficiency with Microsoft Office programs
• 4-year Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Communication, a related field required, or equivalent work experience

This position is based in our Reston, VA office and offers a flexible, hybrid work schedule.

The pay range is $132,500 - $179,300.

The anticipated annual base salary range for this position is noted above, however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience. Verisign offers a discretionary bonus which is based on individual and company performance, and certain roles may be eligible for discretionary stock awards.
