Overview
Reporting to the Sr. Finance Director of International Lottery and Global Lottery Technology, the Snr Manager of Finance and Portfolio Cost Controller supports the Lottery Technology organization, and is primarily responsible for the financial planning & forecasting, budget preparation, financial reporting & analysis, and management of 4 team members in support of the project portfolio of technology delivery projects. The project portfolio being managed includes large lottery implementations and system conversions as well as annual software services provided to the retail lottery customers. The project portfolio is ~$500M baseline budget with annualize ~1.6M manhours.
Responsibilities
- Develop and oversee financial plans and policies, and the organization's financial relationship with regions and technology leads, to ensure that financial and strategic goals are attained through the management of the project portfolio.
- Lead coordination and planning of technology project portfolio financial forecasts and budget cycle.
- Complete reporting package and financial and operational metrics to drive tactical strategic decisions inclusive of financial results, KPIs, and cost analysis.
- Provides business leadership with the required financial and operational metrics to drive tactical and strategic decisions.
- Responsible for coordination of financial components relating to the cost estimation process for RFP process & work closely with Business Evaluations for retail lottery opportunities.
- Provide value-added analysis, dashboard designs interpretation of project expenditure, variances, and cost trends to identify cost optimization.
- Recommend modifications to new and existing processes and reporting, to improve financial health of key project deliverables that lead to cost savings and measures of internal customer satisfaction.
- Participation in month end closing process as needed
- Monitor SOX controls within the Technology projects reporting process, and provide audit updates
- Review forecast accuracy month-over-month
- Translate the company's financial strategies into tactical plans, reporting requirements, processes
- KPI measurement and Metrix's and publishing into Power BI
- Act as a lead on costing process and partner with business evaluation to provide effective support and strategic guidance relating to costing processes.
- Guide the team in development and improvements of reporting systems and tools.
- Develop and manage team of 4 personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function, and appropriate allocation of project workload across team
- Liaise with Regional finance leads to ensure alignment with operational reporting
- Liaise with Director of Finance FP&A to ensure overall technology cost forecasts are aligned with project demand.
- Ad hoc reporting requests to support PMO, BE pricing, opportunity offerings, project pipeline, demand/Supply analysis and various other corporate or technology requests.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive experience in financial planning, accounting, cost management & data analytics
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting or related field.
- Advance proficiency in MS Excel, ability to manipulate data extracts (Power Query, MS BI or Tableau a plus)
- Self-motivated, able to work both independently and as part of a team
- Accomplished management skills and demonstrated ability to develop team
- Relationship management across all levels of a comparable size/structure organization
- Highly organized with ability to multi-task and meet multiple deadlines
- Proficient in SAP, BPC/Hyperion Planning Application
- Understanding of and adherence to Accounting policies and SOX controls
- Knowledge of Power BI reporting tool
