Job Description
Verisign enables the security, stability, and resiliency of key internet infrastructure and services, including providing root zone maintainer services, operating two of the 13 global internet root servers, and providing registration services and authoritative resolution for the .com and .net top-level domains, which support the majority of global e-commerce.
The Sr Manager - Payroll manages the processing of global payroll data and related benefit support data for all Verisign employees. This position is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the company's payroll, including tax filings, regulatory compliance, and all processing inquiries. This position ensures and maintains the tactical approaches utilized by the payroll department to maintain proper controls, ensure regulatory compliance, and support best practices.
Responsibilities
- Leads the Payroll Team in delivering solutions and continuous improvement to the payroll process by establishing procedures for global payroll functions including computation of deductions; preparation of payrolls; maintenance of records and reports; preparation of reports for federal, state, and local government, as well as applicable international agencies; and processing of payments to employees all while ensuring proper procedural controls are maintained.
- Manages activities for global payroll. Exercises supervision in terms of costs, methods, training, and staffing.
- Responsible for monitoring global payroll changes, ensuring all salaries and deductions are paid in accordance with established policy and labor agreements, tax and reporting procedures, and work schedules.
- Liaises internally with Human Resources teams, HRIS, Legal, Corporate Tax, Treasury and Accounting on relevant payroll topics and issues and provides requested reports/data. Additionally, serves as a subject matter point of contact with external sources on matters related to payroll. Also manages the resources who serve as points of contact to all employees for payroll related inquiries. Serves as key escalation point for complex issues.
- Collaborate with other cross-functional teams to manage the relationship with Verisign’s outsourced payroll vendors, to include working on application upgrades and configuration revisions that may be needed due to business changes.
- Develop and facilitate Employee trainings for Shift Workers, Timecards and understanding W-2s.
Job Qualifications
- 4 Year / Bachelors Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance Degree required or equivalent work experience
Relevant Experience
- 8 years of related experience processing payroll and in a multi-state environment
- 3 -5 years managerial experience
- Demonstrated experience managing complex projects with the ability to manage multiple priorities and strict deadlines.
- Prior payroll system implementation experience, prefer ADP Vantage experience
- Prior experience evaluating SOC I report issued by third-party service provider
- Global payroll experience, preferred; willing to comply with FBAR requirements
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and organizational skills.
- CPP Certification
