Location/Division-Specific Information:
This position is within the Chromatography and Mass Spectrometry Division of the Analytical Instruments Group. The employee will be located in Sunnyvale, California.
How will you make an impact?
The Senior Manager, Product Management for Ion Chromatography/Sample Preparation (IC/SP) Business Unit will lead a team of Product Managers accountable for the global strategic direction and vitality of new and existing products for the entire product portfolio within the business unit. This includes overall responsibility and accountability for delivering on the product lines' revenue, profitability, and growth. They will be responsible and accountable for understanding customer needs, analyzing market conditions (working with marketing teams), defining features or functions, and ultimately delivering a product and product retirement. This role spans different activities from strategic to tactical and will serve as an interdisciplinary role between R&D, operations, marketing, and commercial organization.
What will you do?
- People Management
- Lead and develop a high-performance Product Management team.
- Define goals in terms of achieving the organization's business objectives.
- Monitors and manages the development of the team and related performance issues.
- Ensures successors are identified for critical roles.
- Drives action planning and initiatives across the team incorporating Employee Involvement Survey or other feedback.

- Product Revenue and Vitality Metrics
- Expert understanding and control of profitability, margins, and lifecycle.
- Accountable for product revenue and vitality across assigned responsibilities.
- Drives changes based on strategic shifts and internal and external factors in conjunction with stakeholders.
- Portfolio Roadmap and STRAP Planning
- Accountable for portfolio roadmap and strategy for assigned area of responsibility.
- Influences STRAP process in partnership with marketing and business leaders.
- Partners with business and functional experts to drive the OEM strategy and opportunities within the business unit.
- Advises on strategic marketing plans to achieve objectives for products and services.
- Product Life Cycle Management
- Defines end-to-end product lifecycle requirements for business.
- Accountable for all tasks for the entire product range within a business, including product quality and performance, data integrity, end-of-life determination, and process.
- R&D Roadmap and New Product Development and Introduction (NPDI)
- Influences strategy based on global market, competitive dynamics, and regional-specific variations.
- Ensures alignment with business strategy and goals defined by the business leadership team.
- Partners with R&D & PMO to oversee NPDI processes within the business, including product roadmap, business plans, and market requirements, ensuring compliance with established processes and guidelines.
- Contributes to and ensures compliance with established processes and guidelines.
- Drives resolution of escalations.
- Creates product roadmap, establishes a business plan, and identifies market requirements definition (MRD).
- Strategic Pricing
- Accountable for the pricing strategy for assigned responsibility.
- Recommends product positioning, packaging, and pricing strategy to produce the most substantial possible long-term market share.
How will you get here?
Education
- Bachelor's degree in the scientific or business field
- Master's degree highly desirable - MS, Ph.D., or MBA
Experience
- 10+ years of related experience required; prior Product Management experience preferred.
- People Management:
- 5+ years of management experience within product management, market development, product marketing, or related functions with a demonstrated track record of success
- Ability to build, manage, and inspire teams across a matrix environment; effective at influencing others and building relationships with a collaborative approach
- Experience leading a multinational/multicultural team, including remote staff.

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $155,900.00-$233,500.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
