With new state-of the-art offices in Scottsdale, AZ (Headquarters) and Chicago, IL - plus a growing presence in San Francisco - we're entering our next big chapter. We focus all hiring efforts in a few states and within driving distance of an office location to enable in-person collaboration when and where possible. Priority hiring locations are Scottsdale, AZ, Illinois, NY tri-state metro area (New Jersey, New York and Connecticut) and San Francisco, CA. On exception we will hire in secondary locations such as District of Columbia, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Nevada, North Carolina, South Carolina, Texas and Virginia. We are not actively recruiting in Colorado, Rhode Island or Washington.

Overall Purpose

Manages a team of Agile project managers responsible for delivery of very large, complex technical programs including groups of inter-related projects targeted to meet one or more key company strategic business goal(s). The role of a technical program manager involves managing multiple areas simultaneously, with a focus on leading the development of highly technical projects. You're expected to coordinate projects across multiple teams that may have a stake in a technical project.

Essential Functions

  • Facilitates strategy, partners with leaders and stakeholders to align expectations and the delivery of business outcomes to the enterprise strategy and product roadmap. A leader of continuous improvement who leverages Agile metrics to understand performance of delivery teams, identifies improvement opportunities, develops recommendations and implements change
  • Provides effective leadership in developing highly engaged, high-performance Teams. Fosters a culture of safety, growth, and performance through outstanding leadership and coaching to the team to enable delivery of high-quality outcomes.
  • When necessary, identifies opportunities, scope technical solutions, assess trade-offs & risks, align cross-functional stakeholders, and drive execution of programs that will impact Early Warnings customers' conversion, retention, and growth
  • Establishes operational objectives and work/ action plans to achieve Portfolio priorities and drives successful business outcomes within the program. Allocates/Delegates assignments to appropriate resources
  • Break down ambiguous problems, align on business strategy, contribute to technical requirements, curate stakeholders, and drive the execution towards a unified goal
  • Performs program level governance review of all associated projects to ensure they are following required processes, tracking to be on time, within budget, and of quality to ensure customer value commitment.
  • Creates and maintains master program plan for all active aligned projects and status reporting. Resolves project/program plans and interdependencies to ensure plan success and resource capacity. Engages cross project interdependency scheduling to ensure project interdependencies are documented and tracked including defining critical program level milestones within each project for visibility
  • Manages the masterplan, motivates progress to meet deadlines, and liaise with non-technical stakeholders to ensure the projects stay on the rails.
  • Oversees and monitors all aspects of multiple interrelated projects within the program to ensure the overall program is aligned to and directly supports the achievement of strategic business objectives, evaluating progress, proactively works with project teams mitigating risk and effective issue resolution across program.
  • Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational and organizational problems
  • Develops and implements best practices, templates, policies, tools and partnerships to expand, mature and improve effectiveness of program management. Mentors and coaches team members on policies and procedures and best practices
  • Oversees internal and externally driven audits of projects within program. Accountable for managing risk and controlling change to ensure delivery meets time, cost and quality objectives.
  • Support the company's commitment to risk management and protecting the integrity and confidentiality of systems and data.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Business, Project Management and/or Computer Science or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 or more years of direct experience in technical program management or related project management experience in business and/or technical environments
  • Minimum 3 years of management or supervisory experience
  • Agile and/or Scrum Master certification(s) or equivalent work experience is required
  • Ability to lead and coach program/project managers in the successful delivery of the developed framework.
  • Ability to leverage data to identify the largest strategic opportunities for the organization and to drive recommendations
  • Experience in financial institutions or similarly regulatory industries and/or software development processes with background in the data processing environment, application systems, and communication systems.
  • Ability to drive complex technology programs and projects through their life-cycle, ensuring technical solutions are sound and aligned to business goals
  • Must be able to work independently, have excellent follow-up, and meet tight deadlines for deliverables.
  • Possess excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and be able to deal effectively with ambiguity and constant change
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate across all levels of the organization is necessary; must be able to clearly articulate technical ideas to a non-technical audience both verbally and in writing. Highly engaged, self-starter with ability to balance achieving business results, fostering collaboration and influencing business strategies
  • Proactive in identifying and driving process improvements and documenting efficiency gains within the organization
  • Demonstrated experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies and all aspects of the System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology and tools
  • Background and drug screen.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or related certifications is beneficial
  • Additional related education and/or experience preferred

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling, and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
