Job Description

Avant is looking for a Senior Manager to join our People Team and partner with the business to appropriately design, implement and administer a comprehensive total rewards strategy and program for the organization. This position will structure Compensation, Benefits & Payroll programs, ensure appropriate benchmarking, lead HRIS (Workday) optimization, strategy and analytics, provide education to leadership & people managers, and ensure successful delivery of compensation & benefits-related initiatives across the company.
You will work in a collaborative environment with leaders across the company, and own projects that ensure we're recruiting and retaining awesome people, ensuring appropriate recognition, complying with various compensation and benefits-related laws, and building relationships to support our people managers as they lead critical initiatives to enable business growth. As a part of the People leadership team, your role will offer autonomy, leadership-facing opportunities, and most importantly, the sense of accomplishment that comes with being responsible for the most important growth effort for a company: its people.
What you'll do at Avant:
  • Evolve the organizations' overall Total Rewards strategy in alignment with our broader People & organizational strategy & initiatives. This includes health and welfare plans, retirement plans, life insurance, time off, wellness programs and any other employee benefit plans offered.
  • Oversee the HRIS (Workday)function and lead initiatives to optimize system functionality to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Provide oversight of Avant's base pay, short-term incentive, and long-term incentive programs. Build reporting and communicate with leaders, managers, and stakeholders regarding the same.
  • Participate in Compensation and Benefits surveys to ensure appropriate benchmarking, maintain compensation ranges and provide key insights to inform the company's compensation strategy.
  • Stay up-to-speed on critical trends & best practices in Compensation & Benefits, particularly within the Tech and Financial Services industries, and ensure appropriate application to Avant.
  • Work with cross-functional partners to build processes & policies to ensure that the People Services team operates efficiently and in a customer-service-oriented manner.
  • Lead Annual Benefits Renewal and Open Enrollment.
  • Manage year-end and mid-year compensation review processes.
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition team to ensure appropriate recruiting strategy.
  • Partner with the Employee Relations and Development teams to ensure appropriate retention strategy
  • Oversee Payroll function and provide support and guidance to payroll lead.
  • Manage Avant's equity recordkeeping program.
  • Ensure continued compliance with all Federal, State, and local compensation and benefits laws.
  • Leverage all components of the total rewards function to extract analytical people related insights that ultimately inform business decisions and strategy.

  • BA/BS Degree
  • 8+ years of Compensation, Benefits, or other relevant experience, including 3+ years of people management experience
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills (verbal and written), and the ability to interact with employees at all levels
  • Ability to apply significant discretion in sensitive situations
  • Experience working with highly-skilled technical employees and large, non-exempt populations alike
  • Strategic, big-picture thinking combined with execution skills to ensure that we're getting things done
  • Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong data analytics & excel skills, as well as comfort in operating within HRIS platforms & Google Suite
  • Prior experience in Workday HCM and software
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functional areas
  • Strong bias for action
  • Working understanding of Leadership Development and Talent Acquisition strategy preferred
  • Prior experience with public company executive compensation and equity recordkeeping preferred
  • Prior experience in Technology or Financial Services preferred
