Job Description

The Sr Manager is pivotal in developing our utilization resources, leading targeted initiatives and demonstrating the value of GHX e-Commerce to our customers. This position interfaces directly with both existing GHX supplier and provider customers and other GHX functions to improve the utilization of GHX e-Commerce solutions. The Sr Manager will also have significant responsibility for future planning, managing metrics, improving utilization processes and reporting to senior GHX leadership. This position leads a team of salaried employees, providing strategic and operational direction, motivation, support and guidance.
Principal duties and responsibilities:
This role primarily serves specifically to increase transaction volume with GHX customers:
  • Meet and build relationships with client contacts by presenting and discussing industry trends, best in class strategies, and gaining buy-in for GHX industry utilization initiatives.
  • Provide leadership within the GHX Utilization Service for staff, service line development and operations.
  • Provide proactive ownership of methodology creation/refinement, presentation materials development, staff training and in the execution of utilization initiatives.
  • Participate in executive meetings with GHX leadership team as requested.
  • Support organization growth and maturation of the Utilization Service through staff development, methodology / service creation and practice development.
  • Lead a team of salaried employees, providing strategic and operational direction, motivation, support and guidance.
  • Lead cross-functional internal operational improvement activities that benefit clients and GHX.
  • Contribute thought leadership to the creation of standard utilization deliverables and methodologies as well as establishing the Utilization Service across GHX.
  • Provide direction and guidance to GHX resources on utilization initiative execution.
  • Identify opportunities to improve utilization results from GHX products or services.
  • Develop and facilitate client training sessions to implement identified change management initiatives.
  • Direct client collection of qualitative and quantitative data to assess current processes, benchmark against best practice metrics, and foster improvement opportunities.
  • Create ROI analysis/Business Case to demonstrate value added.
  • Lead client discussions and meetings to present analysis and facilitate client decision making to execute on utilization initiatives.
  • Collaborate with GHX Executives, Regional Directors, Account Executives, Executive Sales, Product Management and Marketing to identify and address customer utilization needs.
  • Create solutions to client problems and monitor initiative progress.
  • Create, review and approve support documentation, work plans, and other deliverables.
  • Coordinate client assignments: monitor client satisfaction, assure initiative efficiency and quality, and manage continuous improvement process.
  • Communicate broad complex concepts or issues in a succinct manner to facilitate task execution and client facing communication.
  • Mentor, manage, facilitate and assist Utilization Service staff development.
  • Align Utilization Service staffing model to meet the demands of comprehensive initiative delivery.

Required Skills:
  • Strong analytical ability to identify processes and determine how to create process improvement opportunities.
  • Strong knowledge of e-Commerce and GHX products/services.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation-quality deliverables.
  • Strong organization skills: ability to multitask and manage multiple initiatives and resources.
  • Ability to interface with provider, supplier, distributors and group purchasing organizations.
  • Strong comprehension of supply chain technologies in the healthcare market, provider and supplier.
  • Ability to lead new service line ventures.
  • Leadership experience

Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience with healthcare procurement or e-Commerce
  • Deep understanding of EDI transactions and associated business processes
  • Knowledge of industry leading practices and key metrics
  • Comprehension of basic financial accounting activities
  • Knowledge of common industry information systems and applications (provider and supplier)
  • Experience with information systems implementation
  • Proven experience in developing and executing new business ventures
  • Proven experience leading team to success in client engagements
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Approximately up to 25% travel required

Preferred qualifications:
  • An understanding or experience with GHX e-Commerce products and services, EDI specifically
  • Knowledge of provider and supplier e-Commerce and associated business processes
  • Demonstrated expertise in problem solving in complex, multi-stakeholder business cases

Estimated salary range: $105,500 - $140,600
The base salary range represents the anticipated low and high end of the GHX's salary range for this position. Actual salaries will vary and will be based on various factors, such as candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and proficiency for the role. The base salary is one component of GHX's total compensation package for employees.
