As the Senior Marketing Manager for The Toro Company's Residential Landscape Contractor (RLC) division, you will lead, plan and direct go-to-market initiatives while maintaining key customer relationships with our mass and dealer channels.
Responsibilities include development of appropriate objectives, strategies and tactics built on a customer-first mindset to ensure the optimal performance amongst our three core customer groups: Suburban Urban, Home Owner with Acreage and Professional. Scope of work includes product go-to-market, marketing communications and automation leadership, channel delivery and ensuring appropriate media, brand and messaging mix that resonates with each core customer group. This role works cross-functionally with product management, sales, marketing communications, customer care and integrated supply chain leadership teams.
What Will You Do?
- Utilizing a deep understanding of end user needs, you will partner with your team and define the product vision and strategy for each core customer group
- Establish a compelling vision, strategy and business case for each core customer group along with an annual plan to reach customers at their level
- Engage with mass channel and dealer sales partners to deliver on business financials and strategic category objectives and support event activation as needed
- Act as a thought leader for product management and brand execution while achieving buy-in from divisional and executive leadership
- P&L accountability, category annual plan and team leadership for RLC brand activation
- Leverage consumer insights, in-market voice of customer and emerging trends to elevate a market leading brand customer portfolio that capitalizes on electrification and automation market trends
- Develop clear roadmaps and competitive benchmarking to ensure RLC product categories are best-in-class
What Do You Need?
The right candidate will be naturally curious, collaborative and possess emerging technology experience, including brand activation focused on emerging technologies. The Senior Marketing Manager will also need to have exceptional people leadership and influence skills as they work broadly across the organization (engineering, marketing, sales, IT, integrated supply chain) and with important mass and dealer channel partners. The ideal candidate should also have experience delivering strategic vision and presentations to senior executive leadership.
- Emerging technologies experience, including product portfolio electrification and/or IoT
- Strong customer orientation, including experience leading Voice of Customer
- Legacy of P&L leadership and delivering on company financial commitments
- Passion for providing market leading product launches on time and within project scope, including minimum 7 years of successfully managing brand marketing efforts
- Ability to lead teams and develop go-to-market strategies
- BA or BS Degree in marketing related discipline required with 10+ years marketing experience
- MBA preferred with experience in consumer, mid-price/premium products
- Must possess strong analytical skills and demonstrated superior interpersonal, supervisory and leadership abilities for project/team management
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and communications skills, exhibit initiative and be a team player fully supportive of division and company objectives and culture
- Travel: Up to 25% travel
