YOUR ROLE AT BAXTER:

This is where your insights inspire change! Your primary customers will include buy and sell side investors as well as Baxter's CEO, CFO, VP of IR, and Board of Directors. You will work collaboratively with our internal teams such as Communications, Finance, Commercial, Strategy, Business Development, Legal and more to understand Baxter's performance and synthesize our results and strategy into a compelling investment story.

As a valued member of our finance organization, your financial expertise, business insights and strong communication skills will directly support our senior management team as they engage with the investment community and drive value for the company.

YOUR TEAM:

The Investor Relations team's purpose includes:

• Conveying a compelling investment story to current and prospective investors via quarterly earnings calls, industry conference presentations and Baxter's bi-annual Investor Conference. This includes the creation of external materials (e.g., presentation, press releases, financial schedules), Q&A prep ahead of external events, and drafting of the earnings call script.
• Supervising the external environment to understand investor sentiment of Baxter, assess competitive landscape, analyze potential impact to Baxter from micro- & macro-economic factors, and benchmark standard processes
• Educating and preparing senior management for external engagements by analyzing financial and operational performance, quantifying risks and opportunities, preparing responses to anticipated investor questions and more.
• Encouraging relationships with investors, sell side analysts and vendor partners.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Supervise the quarterly earnings process including material development for earnings binders; implement continuous process improvement environment
  • Prepare and coordinate reporting of the company's financial results communications including quarterly earnings results process and analysis, outlook analysis and disclosure requirements
• Develop key messages for IR that proactively demonstrates the strategic vision, operational and financial performance of the company and ensures consistency with corporate communications for all the businesses and the corporation
• Develop and complete IR strategy regarding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) matters including ESG communications, outreach with ESG-focused investors and support of Baxter's Corporate Responsibility council and annual report
  • Member of the CR Council
  • Supervises SASB Index finalization
• Collaborates with strategy, business and functional teams; Develop and continually update an in-depth, extensive knowledge of the of global operations and strategies, technologies, businesses, material ESG issues and corporate functions
• Maintains relationship with FP&A, GDC, Controllers, Communications
• Board materials
• Adopts the Digital Transformation at Baxter. Increase digital savvy, integrate digital operating model and automation into the IR strategy, and support finance end-to-end process transformations
• Ad hoc:
  • Leads IR team budget
  • Website management
  • Lead all aspects of selection, negotiation and management of external vendor

WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance
• 5+ years of relative experience
• Healthcare experience is a plus
• Strong discernment and judgment as well as understanding of relevant business environment.
• Ability to effectively influence and drive consensus with diverse stakeholders; demonstrated ability to run multiple, contending priorities.
• Strong negotiation, interpersonal communication, collaboration, and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, tax and legal accounting.
• Skilled at assembling and managing both ongoing direct reports as well as cross-functional teams as required.
• Decisive leadership, with ability to generate ideas, develop alternatives, rapidly decide upon best course of action and drive implementation of that decision.

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all our employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. To that end, this position has a base salary range of $112,000 to $216,000 plus an annual incentive bonus, commission target, and equity target.The above range represents the expected base salary range for this position. The actual salary may vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, relevant skills/experience, time in the role, business line, and geographic/office location.
