Job Description Summary
Conducts and/or manages strategic supply chain analysis, identifies and recommends opportunities for improving efficiency, effectiveness and capabilities of the supply chain and develops and implements supply chain designs, models, strategies and/or processes to improve the business. This role interacts with all levels of the Mallinckrodt Management Team. The Supply Chain Development & Optimization Manager focus is to understand internal work flow and customer requirements to identify and develop procedural and process improvements by utilizing analytical and quantitative methods. Manages utilization of external manufacturing, to supplement production capabilities while still delivering on customer service requirements.
Job Description
Production Plans that Effectively Utilize Resources and Meets Customer Demand and Development to Commercialization Timelines
A. Leads the production planning process to ensure development of an accurate, timely production plan on a monthly basis.
B. Expedites materials from incoming through finished good release, ensuring adequate systems, lead-times and sense of urgency are applied in the process.

Guidance and Advice that Influences Vertical Supply Chain and Decisions
A. Recommends solutions or improvements for implementation; takes leadership role in high impact, complex Logistics projects. Projects may include product transfers, packaging services, or other significant initiatives that cover multiple facilities and products.
Recommendations on Business Conflicts that Mitigate Risk and Ensures Customer Demand is Met
A. Provides “what if” capacity and schedule analysis as needed for changing demand requirements, staffing constraints, and new customer project awards to support efficient and timely delivery of all business needs.
B. Integrates information from a variety of sources including ERP systems (JDA, JDE, BPCS). Analyzed and reports data trends and issues to Logistics colleagues, manufacturing leadership and management team and provide summaries and recommendations for improvement opportunities. Utilizes this information to help identify, recommend and/or lead continuous improvement actions to meet or exceed goals particularly in customer service/fill rates and inventory optimization (product phase in-phase out, safety stocks, etc.).
C. Manages projects related to Outsourcing of production activities. This includes monitoring of project progress and notification of any changes, resolution of issues, and acting as liaison between the Corporate Contract Manufacturing Group and the Plant.

A. Detects general trends, associations, and cause-effect relationships to successfully implement improvements in inventory, cycle times, customer service and other areas of Logistics. Creates relevant options and manages risks that may affect customer service and/or productivity to address problems/opportunities and achieving desired outcomes.
Minimum Requirements
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Business, technical discipline or equivalent experience
Experience:
5-8 years of experience in supply chain, planning, operations, logistics or distribution.
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
JDA, JDE, BPCS experience a plus.
Other Skills/Competencies:
Experience and demonstrated knowledge in logistics manufacturing operations and processes including order fulfillment, materials planning, logistics and/or sourcing.
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the factors that can affect business unit and corporate goals and uses industry knowledge in planning and decision making.
Working knowledge of business processes and interdependencies

Strong computer skills including Microsoft tools and ERP systems
Strong communication skills
Ability to effectively work across multiple departments / people
