Sr Mobile Apps Tester (Manual)

What's the role?

In this role as a Sr. Test Engineer you will play  a pivotal role in overseeing the testing activities within the SDK QA team. Furthermore you will:

• Develop comprehensive test plans and test strategies based on project requirements.
• Define test objectives, scope, and criteria for success.
• Execute manual test cases on various platforms (web, mobile, desktop) to identify defects.
• Perform functional, usability, performance, and exploratory testing.
• Identify, document, and track defects in a defect management system (e.g., JIRA, Bugzilla).
• Prepare detailed test reports summarizing test activities, defects, and test results.
• Communicate testing progress, issues, and risks to stakeholders and project managers.
• Collect and analyze test metrics to assess the quality of the application and the effectiveness of the testing process.
• Provide recommendations for process improvements based on test metrics.
• Work closely with development, product management, and other QA team members to understand
• requirements and ensure comprehensive test coverage.
• Participate in requirement reviews, design discussions, and code reviews to provide input from a testing perspective.
• Mentor and train junior QA engineers, sharing best practices and knowledge.

Who are you?

You are an ideal candidate for this role if you possess the following skills, competencies, and work experience

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably in computer science
• 5-8 years’ of software industry experience including 4+ years in software testing.
• Experience in mobile testing using android and iOS mobile apps
• Proficiency in using test management tools like JIRA, TestRail, or equivalent
• Experience with defect tracking systems and processes.
• Knowledge of basic scripting for data setup and test environment configuration (e.g., SQL, Shell scripting).
• Experience in field testing (is plus)
• High attention to detail and a methodical approach to testing.

In this role, you will be part of our innovative SDK QA team, which is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of HERE services through rigorous testing and automation of our Android and iOS applications. Your daily focus will be on developing robust test frameworks, automating test cases, and integrating them into our CI/CD pipelines. You will work closely with developers to convert test plans into reality, ensuring that our mobile applications perform seamlessly.
