Sr Network Engineer

Position Details

As a Sr. Network Engineer, you will lead technology design and implementation resources with focus on the local and wide area network requirements of the bank. You will be responsible for the resources and processes involved in the planning, development, implementation, and operation of corporate technical infrastructure.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Develops and implements local and wide area network designs that supportFirst Bank's corporate goals. Works on the most complex network support requirements for the bank.
• Specific engineering skills related to Juniper hardware and associated command language platform, Aruba Wireless and SD-WAN, SIP/VOIP, Netscaler load balancing, CheckPoint Firewalls, and VPN remote access.
• Maintain Checkpoint and Juniper firewall rule sets, update the firewalls, and perform cleanup of unused rule and object
• Work directly with business partners to properly establish site-to-site VPNs.
• Understanding of network monitoring tools and trouble-shooting processes.
• Able to trouble-shoot network performance issues related to network infrastructure and applications, patch management, and desktop / servers.
• Ability to manage policies associated with micro and nano segmentation rules on network equipment and servers.
• Ability to manage project effectively including coordination, timelines, budgets and staff resources. Must be able to effectively communicate at all levels with peers, across functions, management, and vendors.
• Ensures all applications of technology conform to corporate standard implementations, proper backup and disaster recovery procedures are developed, all applicable documentation is developed accurately, and all projects follow the technology project process.
• Assists the Manager of Network Services in formulating objectives, policies and procedures to ensure all technical implementation and support are of the highest quality and meet the needs of the business unit(s) being served.
• Assists the Manager of Network Services in the development of the Technology Services operating budget.
• Represents Network Services in various corporation-wide cross-functional initiatives.

What Do You Need for this Position?

• Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university, required
• Minimum of eight years' experience and/or training in Network Design and Implementation and/or three years' experience in managing technical teams; or equivalent combination of education and experience, required
• Preference for an incumbent that holds one or more major industry relevant engineering certifications as well as two or more minor certifications
• Proven ability to develop and manage projects to completion
• Excellent hardware and software troubleshooting skills
• Comprehensive knowledge of networking environments with specific areas of high-level expertise
• Preference for an individual with working knowledge of the banking and financial industries
