Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Product Engineering Teams optimize existing products from information or input provided by marketing, customers, Operation Teams, Development Engineers or other employees. They maintain existing products, processes, and specifications including modifications for new applications consistent with manufacturing techniques and economies. They also initiate and implement programs to continuously improve quality, and cost, while meeting customer requirements and may support and implement product extensions to existing platform products to meet specific customer requirements. They are the key experts in the products they are responsible for at TE.

What You'll Be Doing• Define test procedures based on requirements and/or customers or international/external specifications, assess results and provide conclusions• Responsible for assigned VA/VE projects execution & ability to promote new VA/VE opportunities.• Define dimensions, tolerances & special characteristics based on customer requirements, intended application, best practices and experience• Assist in Packaging related documentation, testing & support• Ensure product manufacturability• Responsible for fit, form and function of assigned products• Create & modify drawings/models• Create Engineering BOMs and release them using PLM/EC Link/Windchill system• Define and keep product performance documents• Write and maintain product specifications• Keep product engineering documentation up to date• Assess deviations and provide dispositions (production, quality, suppliers, etc.)• Support Quality with 8D reports (3D to 5D being primary engineering )• Define failure modes, root causes and corrective actions• Ensure that product performance is preserved throughout product life cycle• Interact in different levels (guiding, supporting, preparing presentations and information, following meetings, etc.) with manufacturing, quality, procurement as well as with customers and suppliers;• Work with core team leaders (Project Managers) to provide timely & accurate information for the assigned project tasks• Ensure assigned project deliverables for gates are completed as per project plan• Follow the LEANDP guidelines for product extension developments and improvements• Support quality department with PPAP documentation• Review and provide engineering decision on supplier's PPAP/Change request to Supplier Quality team• Responsible for customer notifications (PCN - from the decision to release).• Coordination and execution of engineering samples, testing & validation• Any other as assigned by department manager

What your background should look like:

Qualifications:• Education

o bachelor's degree in mechanical/electrical engineering • Experience

o 5 to 7 years of experience desired with high volume mfg. environment (plastic components, stamping terminals and connector assemblies)

o Candidates with at least 2 years of relevant experience will be considered

o Working knowledge of CAD software (Creo/Solidworks or similar)

Desired skills:• Ability to interpret drawing and Geometric tolerances.• Ability to lead meetings with multiple locations spread globally.• Proactive and able to communicate at every level within organization. • A wide degree of creativity and ability to work independently;• Hands on approach for solving issues on production floor;• Ability to deal with multiple priorities simultaneously, multi-tasking and establish priorities based on workload requirements and internal/external customer expectations;• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, attention to detail;• Self-starter and enthusiastic attitude.

COMPENSATION• Competitive base salary commensurate with experience: $88,400 - $132,600 (subject to change dependent on physical location)• Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. TE Connectivity reserves the right to adjust ranges depending on the experience/qualification of the selected candidate as well as internal and external equity.• Total Compensation = Base Salary + Incentive(s) + Benefits
