TheHoneywell Sr. Product Manager is responsible for developing and optimizing an offeringportfolio strategy based on customer insights, competitive and marketintelligence, and executing that strategy to optimize the offerings, marketposition, organic growth, and financial return of the product portfolio acrossthe product lifecycle. Product Managers work closely with cross-functionaldepartments, such as engineering/R&D, manufacturing/sourcing or softwaredevelopment, internal sales and field sales, marketing, as well as Honeywellsenior executives to maximize the growth, development and return on investmentof the organization's product portfolio today and in the future.
TheSr. Product Manager will actively manage a complex portfolio for a BTI, SPS LOBand drive improvement initiatives across functions. This role will be withinwarehouse automation, and the software and robotics within that. The role will collaborate with partners andcustomers to develop solutions in the IIOT space, specifically around theConnected Smart Warehouse, Robotics including but not limited to Autonomous mobilerobots, Robots as a service, and end to end supply chain automation solutions.They should have demonstrated advanced skill levels across all the belowcompetencies. This role's primary focuswill be on warehouse automation, focusing on software and other robotics.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - Area of focus - Warehouse Automationand Robotics
Market Research &Competitive Landscape. Understandbig-picture market drivers, challenges, competitors, and overall businessenvironment within warehouse automation. Identify critical gaps and executeprimary/secondary research to address or leverage the Strategic Marketing Teamto do so. Calculate the maximum potential market size (Total Addressable Market- TAM) with help of the Strategic Marketing Team, evaluate the solution forcommercial viability, and calculate Share of Demand (SOD). Continually assessmarket traction and competitiveness to re-evaluate New Product Introductions(NPI), pricing, or end-of-life (EOL) actions.
Voice of Customer & Segmentation. Able toconduct both VOC and Observational VOC (OVOC) by spending time with customers.Perform continuous discovery to identify and articulate the high value problemscustomers have, and the linkage of those problems to how customers make money.Connect key customer stakeholders and what our offerings do for them, and whichneeds drive purchase decisions. Evaluate sources of disruption and understandthe customer decision journey and how to utilize key personas to transition toeach step. Perform customer market segmentation analysis.
Value Proposition &Competitive Positioning. Identify andstate the target segment and problem to be solved in value propositions.Understand the value drivers and quantify them relative to the Next Best Alternativein value propositions. Perform competitive analysis of Honeywell products andservices vs. the Next Best Alternatives. Work with Customer Marketing (CM)& Commercial Excellence Teams (CE) (i.e., Sales and Service) to communicatevalue propositions and their monetary values to the customer.
New Offering Management. Translatecustomer and business needs within warehouse automation into actionable productrequirements. Provide customer marketing with appropriate information onoffering, target segments and value propositions for effective sales collateraland campaigns. Ensure requirements of each participating function areaccurately represented in the product plan and launch timeline.
Business Models & Pricing. Definethe appropriate value capture model (one-time sale, subscription, service,outcome-based, etc.) and pricing strategy based on appropriate value sharerelative to Next Best Alterative and ensure implementation by the commercialexcellence team. Develop financial models for new and current offering, quantifying,and balancing expected revenue against investment and ongoing fixed andvariable costs to estimate projected margin, operating income, revenue, andreturn on investment. Develop a negotiation walk to close a sale for/with sale.Utilize a management operating system (MOS) to track pricing - PVA(price-volume analysis), etc. Demonstrate variable margin understanding and thelinkage pricing has to margin performance.
Portfolio Lifecycle Management. Understand, articulate, and own the financial impact forportfolio decisions (both P&L & balance sheet) and ensure alignmentwith business strategy for warehouse automation. Build and maintain amulti-year roadmap which includes a detailed 1-year plan and take actionrelative to changing market conditions, competitor actions, and new entrants.Effectively manage products across their lifecycle from demand planning of newofferings through SIOP on ongoing basis through including managing End of Life(EoL). Apply 80/20 analysis to portfolio to define offerings that should besunset and appropriate pricing during sun setting and address sourcing factoryutilization impacts.
YOU MUST HAVE
- Minimum of 7 years of overall experience across Product Management, Marketing, R&D/Engineering and/or warehouse operations leadership experience, with a track record of demonstrated, recognizable results.
- 5+ years of experience in warehousing or distribution setting and experience with corresponding metrics and key performance indicators
- Strong problem-solving skills combined with excellent verbal and written communication skills including track record of presenting to customers and executives
- Ability to work in fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with cross-functional teams to build partnerships and get things done
WE VALUE
- 5+ years of product management experience preferably in warehouse automation and robotics
- An undergraduate degree, preferably in either economics, math, engineering, marketing, management, or a technical discipline.
- Understanding & passion for of the supply chain automation and/or robotics space
- Self-motivated, high-energy individual who can function in a high demand, performance-driven environment
- Demonstrated Honeywell 9 Behaviors.
- MBA or MS in supply chain related field
