Sr Product Manager I

The consumer experiences and product team are looking for a Sr Product Manager I to focus on building world-class digital experiences for Disney's news and entertainment brands. The ideal candidate is collaborative, passionate about UX, self-directed, curious about marketplace trends and has demonstrated an ability to build and support market-leading digital products.
The consumer experiences and product team are responsible for building the next generation of news and entertainment experiences for all digital platforms. As a member of this team, you will work with engineers, designers, business development, sales, marketing, editorial and external partners to launch new features and coordinate ongoing support for existing experiences. You will research trends and news in the digital space, monitor usage and gather feedback from users, and strive to improve the user experience and revenue potential of our digital offerings.
RESPONSIBILITIES :

• Manage the lifecycle of new projects -- from requirements to launch
• Lead the launch of new and/or improved digital experiences.
• Contribute to the roadmap definition, and execute on the development of those features and improvements, through an agile software development lifecycle, across multiple platforms concurrently.
• Write and communicate product requirements effectively to developers, designers, and stakeholders.
• Apply insights from testing and other user research efforts to inform product optimizations and new product development.
• Be an expert in digital trends.
• Identify bugs and work to resolve them quickly.
• Maintain product documentation, issue resolution tasks, change requests and change management to deliver on strategic goals.
• Seeks ways to improve the process of delivering solutions.
• Work closely with the news product team to ensure successful delivery of projects/products that align business objectives, product goals and users' needs.
• Work strategically to promote product roadmaps; create specific project plans.
• Clearly organize and forecast deliverables and dependencies
• Manage scope and execute change control when additional requests for features or functionality are made.
• Proactively identify and address any risk or conflicts over the course of a project.

Basic Qualifications:

• 5 years or more of professional experience in a consumer-oriented digital media company with direct product management experience.

• Personality suited to handle responsibility, leadership and deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail
• Stellar written and oral communication skills; ability to motivate a team.
• Passion for the news and media industries
• Accustomed to driving results in collaborative, cross-functional environments with little instruction or oversight.
• Experience working with large, cross-functional development teams.
• Experience with scrum and software development lifecycle.

Basic Education:

• BA or BS from four year accredited college or university

The hiring range for this position in California is $136,038 to $182,490 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
