What you will do

As a product owner for the Global Sustainable Infrastructure business at Johnson Controls, you will lead efforts to automate standard project development and project measurement processes for the field teams to effectively develop, install, and manage complex decarbonization and energy retrofit projects. In this role, you will be responsible for encapsulating best practice processes in a suite of software tools. You will manage the success of those tools starting from concept through development and continuing with operation and support.

How you will do it

• Lead management of a suite of business operations efficiency software, targeting key business outcomes such as reducing labor cost, improving business intelligence, and managing risk for complex construction programs.
• Empathetically and actively listen to the Sustainable Infrastructure field teams through Voice of the Customer (VOC) sessions, immersing oneself into the most critical business challenges and opportunities to maximize ROI.
• Deploy products to a global audience through a i18n/l10n platform approach to serve the tooling needs of local markets
• Structure and operationalize program management best practices as a senior member of a small team of program managers, business analysts, and other technical program support staff
• Partner with Solution Architect to deliver solutions according to software development best practices, using an established technology stack and incorporating use cases while working closely with the Sustainable Infrastructure end users to deploy solution from design to user acceptance.
• Develop and deliver scopes of work, inclusive of time estimates and client deliverables.
• Serve as Project Manager to meet project milestones, work with Business Analyst to document project details in source control/work tracking platform (Azure DevOps), provide periodic updates and help in identifying solutions and reduce risks for the successful implementation of the solution.
• Communicates and provides training on key software application capabilities, functionality and limitations.
• Provide overall technical leadership for end user engagement for the duration of a project.

What we look for
Required

• 5+ years of industry experience in outcome-based construction projects (ESPC, P3, DBFOM)
• Must have experience developing, installing, and/or measuring performance of facility improvement measures (FIMs)
• Must have exceptional oral and written communication skills
• Ability to recognize evolving expectations in a timely manner and respond with a sense of urgency
• Ability to collaborate with business domain experts toward identifying user stories and minimum viable product
• Ability to lead sustainable software-based programs focused on furthering strategic objectives and improving business processes
• Ability to think strategically and remain focused on the mission, ignoring non-value added distractions
• Ability to analyze data related to complex business issues
• Working knowledge of data management and reporting required; proficiency in Power BI strongly desired
• Working knowledge of MS SQL Server relative to query and report writing preferred
• JavaScript (Angular preferred), .net, C#, Python, and/or HTML/CSS are strongly desired
• Working knowledge and/or experience with application and data server architecture desired
• Ability to set goals consistent with Sustainable Infrastructure line of business objectives
• Ability to work within a fast-paced prototyping and development environment, multi-tasking.
• Ability to occasionally engage with global teams outside of standard business hours (no more than 5% of time on average)
