Sr Rigging Pipeline TD

General Summary
The Sr Rigging Pipeline TD collaborates with production and facility leadership to design, develop, deploy, and support the suite of tools used by Rigging Artists, along with the underlying APIs.

Job Functions

• Collaborate on the design, development, evolution, and support of tools used by Riggers, including our custom rig build system, modular rig components, asset management integration of rigging products and dependencies, and the underlying custom rigging-owned APIs.
• Work with other engineers, artists, and leadership to ensure scalability and studio-wide consistency of rigging tools and APIs.
• Collaborate with animation artists, leadership, and TDs to ensure animation requirements are met.
• Provide support for artists in the rigging domain when issues with their toolset are encountered.
• Collaborate with others to develop and maintain up-to-date user and developer facing documentation for relevant tools and APIs.
• Collaborate across rigging departments to maximize the interoperability of rigging tools, components, and APIs.
• Ensure that rigging tools and APIs have appropriate and timely test coverage, as part of the development process.
• Collaborate with other developers across the production and facility to ensure that our supporting code base meets domain needs and is consistent and modern.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Software Engineer in the VFX or feature animation industry.
• Solid foundation in Computer Science and Linear Algebra.
• Expertise in modern rigging concepts and techniques, modular rig build systems, and rig build automation.
• Experience writing production proven rigging systems, modules, components, and APIs.
• Expertise in Python, including the standard library, the Qt Toolkit (PySide, PyQt), and other common 3rd party libraries and frameworks.
• Expertise in Maya, with a focus on rigging functionality.
• Experience with software version control tooling such as git and familiarity with basic multi-branch collaborative workflows.
• Experience developing for Linux.
• Expertise in Maya’s Python APIs, especially as they relate to rigging; experience writing C++ Maya plugins, preferred.

On-Site in Hillsboro, OR / and also eligible for hybrid work / Remote Eligible.

Salary 
Salary is commensurate with skills and experience.
