Why this role matters:
A Senior Security & Compliance Engineer has prior development or architecture experience and/or has worked in a technology leadership role where they understand programming, tools, applications, database structures and networks, specifically for cloud based deployments. The incumbent will research, identify and document the technology solutions and will work directly with the developers and operations teams to validate this documentation. The incumbent should also be able to understand the regulatory and compliance needs so as to be able to advise development teams on solutions to help meet these regulatory and compliance obligations.
Where you will work:
Flex Worker - You will have home based days, but can be required to commute to the office for collaboration, customer meetings and presentations up to 3 days a week (exact days to be agreed with your line manager). What you will do:
- Participate as a core member of critical security and compliance projects requiring partnership with members across Security, IT, Engineering, and Compliance teams
- Help guarantee strong compliance discipline through driving repeatability in all aspects of business operations through process improvements and automation
- Document in-scope product and service technical designs and gather critical evidence needed for compliance audits
- Be able to operate independently and partner well with development and operations teams
- Plan and implement repeatable processes especially with automation
- Provide well researched documents
- Assist the team with developing well thought and practical processes that will drive compliance while moving the business forward
What you will bring:
Required
- B.S. or M.S. in Computer Engineering or an equivalent degree or commensurate experience
- 5+ years in engineering development or architecture
Desirable
- Strong technology experience with multiple areas with specific focus on cloud (AWS | GCP | Azure), microservices and containerization
- Strong understanding of technology frameworks
- Strong knowledge of networking technologies and IP communications architectures
- Strong focus on documentation including high level design and low level design
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to success and demonstrated accountability
- Ability to:
- Communicate technical ideas and concepts in non-technical language
- Apply analytical skills to evaluate and interpret complex situations using multiple information sources, including quantitative research and trend data
- Present problem analysis and recommended solutions in a creative and logical manner
- Working independently or in a collaborative setting in a fast paced environment
