Sr Software Engineer

What You’ll Be Doing: 

• Maintaining and expanding back-end systems that interact with massive amounts of data and modern ML models in a low-latency application
• Working in a Java environment
• Working with high-throughput Kafka systems (Kafka Connect, Kafka streams, RedPanda)
• Working on some interesting databases, Aerospike, Apache Pinot, etc.
• Embodying technical excellence through developing applications, testing, and performing code reviews
• Ensuring the quality and availability of Sovrn’s products and services

About You

You are a self starter and able to get the job done without micro management. You enjoy being part of a collaborative team but are also independent in terms of getting things done. You love technical challenges and solving problems all while striving to make better software, products and the team.

The successful candidate will have: 

• 3+ year(s) of relevant experience developing back-end systems, REST APIs, and database systems
• You have strong communication skills and a desire for collaboration
• You have an appetite for learning and self growth
• You have an interest in building distributed systems that scale

Bonus Points:

• Experience in Java, or any JVM-based language (Scala, Clojure)
• Experience working with ML models or data science operations
• Past experience with any of the less common databases around today
• Experience working with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS

Position Reports to: Director, Software Engineering - Advertising

Location: Boulder/Denver preferred. Open to Remote in these states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Georgia, Montana, New Jersey, New York, Texas and Washington.

Compensation and Benefits

In accordance with the Colorado Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, the approximate compensation range for this role in Boulder, Colorado is $135,000 - $150,000, including base salary and any related bonuses or commissions. Final compensation for this role will be determined by factors such as a candidate’s relevant work experience, certifications and geographic location.
