Sr Software Engineer (Verify)

Vonage, the leading product in communications APIs and Platforms, is looking for Senior Software Engineers to join our Verify API. Successful Candidates will explore new ways to further enhance our Verify API. There’s also the opportunity to work on the Customer Identity and Access Management team, which is the main entry point for Vonage Customers and is built on standards (OpenID Connect, SAML, JWT, JWS, …).

You would be joining an international, very experienced team of Software Engineers and Scientists passionate for real time communications, media, cloud infrastructure, and much more.

 Responsibilities include:

• Hands-on software development and system design.
• Collaborate on the design and implementation of the global infrastructure deployment for our Verify API services, with an aim of 99.99999% of availability.
• Implement the new features for the Verify API requested by our Product Team.
• Contribute to software architectures for a highly distributed network application.
• Design and develop approaches to measure, evaluate and improve service quality.

Required Skills:

• Expertise in more than one of the following languages: Kotlin, Java, Golang. 
• First hand knowledge of Continuous Deployment tools and methodologies
• Docker (syntax, architecture, ...)
• Familiarity with Git and working with Git on trunk-based development environments.
• Experience using, designing and developing REST APIs
• Experience working with the Spring Boot framework.

 A plus, if one or more of the following tools or technologies are also known:

• ArgoCD
• AWS - we use this extensively, and the candidate should have a good knowledge of at least the set of subservices required to deploy, manage and publish code.
• Kubernetes administration. EKS Administration is a plus.
• Jenkins administration and pipelines
• Helm
• Proxy Configuration (nginx, envoy)
• Nomad/Vault/Consul deployment and configuration
• Kafka
• Redis
