$124,706.00 To $180,000.00

A Brief Overview
The Sr Solutions Architect will identify and define technical solutions for medium- to large- sized projects independently and work in partnership with other Architects on larger projects. Individuals in this job work with one or more operations and/or product areas to understand and identify business problems and needs. You will work with delivery team(s) to ensure high-level architectural designs are understood, translated into effective detailed designs and being implemented throughout the project.
What you will do

• Work with the appropriate business and operations stakeholders to understand and identify the business problem or need.
• Partner with other technical stakeholders to define technology solutions for medium- to large-sized projects.
• Work with senior resources from other teams to: Understand the current technology applications, services, systems and solutions in the problem and solutions space(s); Identify an optimal platform/environment for the solution; Identify an optimal design and implementation of the solution while keeping Service Level Agreements in mind; Identify opportunities for asset reuse, architectural simplification and consistency; Develop proofs of concept when appropriate; Coordinate on technical application strategy.
• Assist Enterprise or Chief Architect with defining FirstBank's architectural governance framework.
• Assist in evaluation of significant new technologies, tools or development approaches.
• Work with Project Sponsor and Enterprise PMO to determine resource needs for all development projects.
• Attend technical conferences to maintain knowledge or industry best practices.
• Perform a Technical Design Lead role when necessary.
• Provide support to the software delivery teams to ensure high level design has been followed through implementation.
• Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
• Understand and comply with all provisions of the Safety in the Workplace policy.

Minimum Requirements

• Typically requires a bachelor's degree in related field and a minimum of 5 years of related experience.
• A combination of post-high school education, job related certification and related experience equivalent to 7 years may be considered in lieu of minimum requirements

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, other technical field, or business preferred
• Hands-on, technical experience in software development process (8-10 years preferred)
• Experience in heterogenous technology environments, including object-oriented development, RESTful services and cloud

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Sufficient technical knowledge and judgment to be able to identify when other Application Developer(s) or IT Architect(s) need to be pulled in or coordinated with
• Build familiarity with all major applications and platforms at FirstBank; strong understanding of multiple platforms, applications and interfaces between applications
• Strong understanding of FirstBank's information architecture
• In-depth understanding of current, applicable business processes, and able to participate in accommodating future business needs
• Strong process design/re-design skills to participate in business requirements analysis
• Ability to manage multiple, complex tasks concurrently
• Excellent technical and operational problem solving skills
• In-depth understanding of FirstBank Software Development Standards and Procedures
• Working knowledge of information security concepts and techniques
• Demonstrated ability to interface and collaborate with peers, developers and technical management in an Agile environment to develop solutions that will meet the needs for those interested in the outcome
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Good listening skills
• Ability to lead technical groups

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements

• Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day
• Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer
• Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms
• Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights
• Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files
• Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone
