Job Description:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant field of study or equivalent years of related work experience such as public relations, corporate communications, or journalism
• Bachelor’s degree in English, communications, marketing, journalism or other related field preferred

Work Experiences:

• 3+ years of related work experience in related field or role such as PR agency, corporate communications, media relations

Skills:

• Ability to Manage projects effectively and work with cross-functional team member
• Working knowledge or prior experience working with social media content capture, creation, posting and advertising
• Effective listening, writing and oral communication skills
• Team player at all levels
• Detail oriented, proven organizational skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Work independently and contribute to team projects
• Proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and LotusNotes or similar e-mail system
• Ability to prioritize, solve problems independently and work effectively under pressure when necessary
• Acceptable level of hearing and vision to perform job duties

Responsibilities:

• Partner with Communications Manager and Regional Marketing Specialists to ensure programs and initiatives obtain maximum exposure via media and social media where necessary
• Serve as company spokesperson in multiple forms of media, i.e. TV, radio, social media
• Responsible for all PR and community relations efforts for assigned markets
• Develop and coach Public Relations Specialist
• Responsible for the training of media spokespeople including store directors and managers as well as key internal stakeholders
• Serve as a resource on Public Relations/Community Relations competencies for the marketing team
• Project management for new store openings
• Assist with execution of strategic communications plans for seasonal campaigns, media relations and special events
• Support the Public Relations Manager
• Work with PR Specialist to track public relations efforts, media coverage and lists, social media, communication and community-focused activities and events to promote a positive company image
• Oversee distribution of press releases, media alerts, social media and other content to local media
• Required to learn company policies, procedures, and safety rules.
• Duties may change and team members may be required to perform other duties as assigned.

• Regular attendance required
• Up to 25% travel with overnight stay
