Sr Staff Accountant

BASIC PURPOSE: To provide professional accounting and bookkeeping services to the Love family members. Job duties will include preparation of financial statements, analytical calculations, and maintenance of accounting workpapers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Preparation of quarterly and yearly financial reports for various individuals, trusts, partnerships, and private foundations
• Preparation of monthly cash flows for various individuals
• Quarterly review standard industry fare level (SIFL)
• Preparation of monthly sales tax reports
• Process household payroll and prepare federal and state payroll reports
• Preparation of annual projected cash flows for various individuals
• Monthly reconciliation of family and trust bank accounts
• Maintain and manage a database of property insurance policies to include policy limits, deductibles, and due dates
• Maintain and manage a database of property taxes on family owned homes
• Maintain family home basis files and spreadsheets/reconcile to general ledger
• Maintain and manage flow charts associated with family entities
• Organize and help in preparing for and documenting family meetings to include quarterly family planning meetings, tri-annual sibling meetings, and annual family planning and education meeting
• Monthly update of family investment spreadsheets
• Monthly update of family personal charitable contribution spreadsheet
• Serve as backup for accounts payable
• Other projects as assigned

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Education:
  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
  • CPA preferred
• Experience:
  • 3+ years experience with Loves, a public accounting firm, or family office

SKILLS AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

• Skills:
  • Hard Skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and Word; experience in Accounting CS
  • Soft Skills: Strong people skills; able to maintain professionalism and discretion; conscientious, dependable, detail oriented and self motivated; trustworthy and highly ethical; strong oral and written communication skills
• Typical Physical Demands:
  • Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping
  • Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator
  • Requires normal range of hearing and vision
  • Possible evening/weekend work
