Laudio’s Senior Statistician has comprehensive knowledge of all of the cross-client analytics Laudio uses to inform our direction, inspire users, and build industry thought leadership. They are counted on for efficient iterations of our data models. They work with stakeholders in many functions across the company and are an evangelist about the work we do, the impact it has, and how we evaluate and make decisions.
They are the Laudio leader for insights that are based in rigorous statistical modeling and analysis of our clients’ de-identified data. They work with Laudio’s customer success, marketing, sales, and product teams to understand how available and potential insights could support the evolution of Laudio’s mission and messaging. They may work with clients to collect and understand a growing diversity of outcomes data. They are generative, process-oriented, solutions-focused, and will be driven by inspiring others with data-driven insights.
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborate closely with the Chief Analytics Officer to support the data and analytic needs of Laudio
- Build on, update, and grow a data management process for ongoing data feeds of healthcare system data related to Laudio’s product utilization and Laudio’s clients’ outcomes
- Currently these are scripts in R that import raw data and convert into format used by the statistical models
- Build on, update, and grow appropriate statistical analyses related to Laudio’s clients’ outcomes accounting for employee, manager, and facility factors
- Currently these are multi-level models built in R which account for hierarchical clustering of employees nested within managers nested within clients. Models also account the impact of employee demographic variables.
- Outcomes include employee turnover, employee engagement scores, and quality/safety data
- Quickly finding meaningful signals in the models that could be used to inform and inspire Laudio's product and users about the types of actions that are making the greatest impact on outcomes
- For example, communicating which results (i) are statistically significant, (ii) are not statistically significant but are likely to be indicative of an outcome that could be communicated to users or to inform product direction, and (iii) are not indicative of a signal
- Able to quickly iterate models to attempt new approaches and to answer evolving hypotheses
- Able to contribute new creative hypotheses that could be asked of the model, especially as they are aligned with forwarding Laudio's mission/vision, users’ needs, and product direction
- Summarize and communicate statistical results for general audiences for use by marketing, content, and other teams
Requirements include:
- Master’s degree in biostatistics, public health, informatics, or related field
- A minimum of 5 years of experience (7-9 years preferred) as a biostatistician, ideally working within a health system
- (Other applicable roles include: healthcare data analyst, data analyst, data scientist, and bioinformatician)
- At least 3 years’ experience working with healthcare data (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of R programming for both data management and analysis
- Ideally, some experience with SQL
- Self-driven and proactive while working in a remote environment; able to work independently
- Experience with multi-level modeling
- Experience working with large health system data preferred
- Communicates effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Strong project management skills, highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task
- Excellent interpersonal skills
