About us

The role holder is responsible for the safety, reliability, security and integrity of the overhead electric distribution system through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel in order to complete job tasks while complying with Company, departmental and Regulatory policies, procedures and statutory requirements. Supervises internal personnel to assure the timely and cost-effective completion of work within the area of responsibility. Provides emergency response and supervision of personnel engaged in a 24-hour, 7 day per week operation.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for the safety and security of distribution line sites through the daily supervision and organization of operations personnel in order to complete job tasks while complying with company and regulatory requirements.

Key Accountabilities

• Position Responsibilities (including but not limited to):
• Supervise a culturally diverse workforce through coaching, counseling and team building to ensure tasks are carried out in a safe and efficient manner
• Review, ensure accuracy and execute the approval of area purchase orders, invoices and payroll activities
• Build good working relationships with internal & external customers and stakeholders and manage the day to-day relationship with them in order to understand their requirements and deliver appropriate solution within National Grid policies and processes
• Monitor performance of allocated staff including issues relating to sickness, discipline and poor standards of work in order to ensure that work is performed efficiently and effectively
• Promote and implement best practices in order to ensure all work tasks achieve high productivity and low cost
• Ability to perform off-hour coverage and provide sound decision-making during emergency situations as required

Supervisory/Interpersonal- Experience Required

• Strong leadership, influencing, customer orientation and communication skills, providing the ability to promote team working and harmonious working between site staff, project teams and contractors.

Qualifications

• Technical degree from an accredited college or university preferred
• 5+ years of related experience required
• 1+ year of experience leading a team involved in field operations activities preferred
• Technical proficiency with software systems preferred
• Demonstrated experience building effective, respectful, working relationships preferred
• Valid driver's license required

Salary

$91,000- $120,000 a year
