Illumina has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Tableau Developer II on our data visualizations and advanced analytics team. This position requires close collaboration with finance and executive leadership teams to build innovative data analytics solutions to provide critical business insights and support decision making capabilities. As part of end-to-end dashboard development, the developer will partner with cross-functional stakeholders and functional experts to translate business requirements into optimized reporting systems and design appropriate dimensional modeling and presentation layers. The candidate will also support in sustainability of the reporting and analytics environment, facilitate data analysis/discovery, and ensure data accuracy & integrity.

Responsibilities:

• Leverage Tableau to create interactive Stories, dashboards, and visualizations to solve complex business problems and strengthen decision-making capabilities among the senior leadership teams.
• Design and architect efficient data models for intake of large complex data sets to provide key business insights and empower the finance team.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analyze user requirements, and manage delivery of scalable analytics solutions.
• Partner with data science and business insights teams to evolve descriptive analytics into predictive and prescriptive analytics.
• Create functional and technical documentation related to Business Intelligence solutions.
• Deliver transformative solutions that are aligned to industry best practices and provide thought leadership in data space.

Qualifications:

• Typically requires 8+ years of continuous, focused experience in the build, customizing and publishing of Tableau interactive reports, visualizations, dashboards and stories.
• Several years of progressive hands-on experience in business intelligence, reporting, and analytics.
• Bachelor's Degree desired in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems or related field (Master's Degree a plus).
• Strong experience with Tableau (Tableau Desktop accepted, Tableau Server a plus).
• Working proficiency with complex data from multiple data sources and building dashboards. Advanced knowledge of SQL, including ability to write complex queries and stored procedures, triggers, and analytic functions, plus performance and scalability tuning and optimization.
• Knowledge of relational and dimensional database structures, theories, principles, and practice. Demonstrated ability to understand new datasets and data structures.
• Strong interpersonal skills and proven experience in building successful partnerships with business and technical groups.
• Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment.
• Ability to creatively take on new challenges and work outside comfort zone.
• Highly self-motivated to deliver both independently and with strong team collaboration.
• Experience in supporting Operations and/or Sales functional reporting a plus.
• Experience with various software delivery methodologies and specifically Agile/Scrum a plus.
