Responsibilities

As a Senior Account Specialist, you will provide timely and efficient policy rating, preparation/issuance and data processing functions in support of Commercial Lines Underwriting. Assist in technical training and documentation within the department.

We'll count on you to:

• Supports achievement of the business unit's profit and growth objectives.
• Rates and issues various transactions including but not limited to new business, renewals, renewal rerates, endorsements and cancellations by using available data processing equipment and programs.
• Performs effective and efficient data entry, data validation and quality assurance to ensure correctness and accuracy of rating data.
• Meets established production goals while maintaining high levels of both quality and service.
• Follows up with Underwriting team and/or agent for missing or inaccurate information.
• Provides support for the Underwriting Department as needed.
• Orders various property inspections and reports per established company processes.
• Identifies, innovates, and suggests new procedures, and opportunities to streamline department processes and workflows. Makes recommendations and helps implement procedural changes as directed.
• Acts as a mentor for newly hired and/or less experienced team members to provide on-the-job learning opportunities to increase data processing knowledge and skill set
• Assists in the training and development of newly hired and/or less experienced team members to ensure job responsibilities are being learned efficiently and effectively
• Develops strong customer service skills including consistency, timeliness, and product knowledge.

• Performs special projects or assignments as requested.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Extensive knowledge of the rating/processing of all lines of commercial insurance written by BNP; including but not limited to CGL, Property, Packages, BOP, Auto, Ceime, IM, Umbrella and WC.
• Advanced insurance education, i.e. AINS Certificate desired
• Ability to learn/utilize multiple computer software programs.
• Accurately complete highly detailed work with minimal errors.
• Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
• Identify and interpret a variety of insurance documents and forms.
• Perform multiple duties and meet deadlines in a fast paced and self-directed environment.
• Respond professionally to customer inquiries.
• Able to perform job duties with moderate supervision.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
