Function Description

Process and execute financial statements in accordance with US GAAP. Review, test and report controls. Support operational and manufacturing accounting deliverables for designated Business Unit (BU) groups. Deliver key Controllership objectives while supporting the Mission & Vision of Carrier Corporation Finance. This position reports to the Sr. Manager Operations Accounting for the Fire & Security Segment of Carrier.

Discipline Description

Executes and delivers the monthly and quarterly financial results in accordance with US GAAP and Carrier policies. Performs initial key analytics on results to confirm financial accuracy. Executes complex manufacturing activities to include but not limited to cost accounting, inventory accounting, manufacturing accounting and other higher-level general accounting activities as defined by Controllership. Review operational activities and other accounting activities performed by manufacturing locations during the month to include oversight of monthly and quarterly activities. Responsible for reconciliations and balance sheet reviews. Review and testing of BU controls to include initial reporting of issues and failures, with a key focus on action plans and strengthening the control environment.

Organizational Level Description

• Executes monthly and quarterly closing activities to deliver results for designated Business Unit groups
• Execute and deliver manufacturing activities, with a clear focus on reconciliations and balance sheet reviews
• Execute and manage costing and inventory activities for one or multiple manufacturing locations
• Document and test the control environment for SOX reportable entities to ensure effective processes

Purpose

Executes financial reporting activities in accordance with US GAAP and Carrier policies, performs manufacturing accounting activities, documents, and tests control activities, delivers monthly and quarterly requirements, and ensures effective communications. Key focus to ensure costing, inventory and balance sheet correctly reflect business results using analytics and reporting. Supports Controller Operations Accounting with any key initiatives and BU focus items, as needed.

Responsibility Statements

Perform manufacturing accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP and Carrier policies as defined by Controllership

Documents and tests control activities for designated Business Unit(s) comprised of multiple sub-BU product offerings

Performs reviews and analytics on balance sheet results; ensure reconciliations are performed in accordance with policy

Manage and own accounting processes which may include changes or updates to current execution and documentation

Manage and own cost and inventory accounting, including key interactions with operations of one or more plants.
