Sr. Accountant
Job Description

To add to our growth, we are seeking a Senior Accountant to contribute their expertise to our finance team. The position will report to our Senior Manager, Accounting. This is a hands-on position that will interface daily with internal departments and our leadership team. Our ideal candidate will have a proven track record in financial accounting, has worked in fast-paced environment, is adaptable to change, and capable of helping to create and operate controlled scalable processes.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Responsible for all aspects of accounting and internal reporting related to capital projects and fixed assets
- Responsible for accurate and timely processing of payroll financial entries and transactions
- Participate in the month-end, quarter-end and year-end financial closing process, including preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
- Prepare accounting schedules routinely and as requested for internal and external reporting requirements, including preparing trend and account analyses
- Administer and ensure compliance with internal controls for area of responsibility and make recommendations for process improvements
- Prepare detailed schedules and support as requested by outside auditors in conjunction with quarterly and annual financial reviews and audits
- Analyze and reconcile large volumes of data from various sources such as SAP, CRM, ADP, bank data, etc.
- Reach conclusions with an adequate level of rationale and documentation and then communicate accounting conclusions
- Apply principles of accounting and maintain financial records in compliance with US GAAP, company policies. and internal controls
- Special projects and other duties as assigned with an emphasis on projects that support our ability to scale our processes
What You’ll Bring to the Team:
- BA or BS degree in accounting, with strong US GAAP knowledge
- 4+ years of experience in an accounting role, including a mix of public accounting and / or industry backgrounds
- Strong BioPharma / Life Sciences manufacturing accounting background, CPA preferred
- Excellent interpersonal skills as this position will interact with employees from staff to executives in other departments within the business
- Must be team player as teamwork and collaboration are one our core values
- Thorough and detail-oriented, able to perform effective self-reviews of all work produced
- Must be able to take the initiative on projects and tasks, and work proactively
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to communicate financial concepts and/or analytical findings
- Strong knowledge of Excel required
 Preferred Qualifications
- SAP ERP knowledge is a plus
- Industry experience: Bioscience, pharmaceutical, technology, or laboratory services
- Public company experience
- International and multi-site experience
Experience working in rapid, start-up-like environment
