Your Role at Baxter:
We are hiring for a talented Senior Accountant to join our team. If you're excited to be part of a winning team, Baxter is a great place to grow your career. This Senior Accountant role is responsible for preparation and review of financial information, preparation of journal entries and analysis of various GL accounts. The position is also responsible for the preparation and distribution of financial information to internal and external customers, including monthly analysis of financial results.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Partner with other areas of the business to deliver against our Finance objectives
- Prepare, review and analyze financial information to ensure users have accurate results in a timely manner. Financial information is issued with consistent formulas. Continually seek new methods and procedures to streamline and simplify the financial process. Work closely with other departments to ensure financial accuracy
- Prepare and analyze account analysis and reconciliations. Maintain details of accounts for ease of review of balance sheet, ensuring activity is reasonable and properly booked. Assist managers with explanations of variances versus trend or versus budget. Monitor a system of controls, procedures and forms for accurate recording of company financial information. Identify possible weaknesses or opportunities to strengthen controls
- Prepare journal entries and allocations, issue detailed reports and reconcile subledgers to general ledger. Review ledger and subledger for accuracy, confirm totals to financial information
- Review other financial information as required for accuracy and reasonableness. These could include Revenue Recognition, Returns/Allowances Accounting, Trade-in Accounting, Warranty Accounting and Intercompany Processing among others
- Process daily, weekly and monthly financial information in the general ledger
- Prepare reports as necessary for audit and tax purposes. Reports and schedules are prepared accurately and timely.
- Prepare special analysis as required. Manage projects as assigned. Includes project planning and appropriate follow through to completion per established timelines. Communicate with co-workers, management and clients in a courteous and professional manner
- Support special projects as assigned
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance
- 3 plus years of experience in business environment. Preferred in Accounting related field
- Experience with General Ledger account reconciliations
- Strong Excel Skills
- Knowledge of JDE, SAP, or similar ERP system, Cognos & reporting tools
- Strong Analytical skills to define problems, identify solutions and to implement changes through to completion
- Ability to communicate effectively and clearly to a wide-range of internal and external customers
- Self-starter with a high degree of initiative and drive with the ability to initiate, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Demonstration of strong leadership qualities

We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. At Baxter, we are committed to equitable pay for all employees, and we strive to be more transparent with our pay practices. The estimated base salary for this position is $72,000 to $99,000 annually. The estimated range is meant to reflect an anticipated salary range for the position. We may pay more or less than of the anticipated range based upon market data and other factors, all of which are subject to change. Individual pay is based on upon location, skills and expertise, experience, and other relevant factors. This position may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
