Role Summary
The Senior Accountant is responsible for various general accounting tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare all applicable recurring and standard monthly journal entries, including updating Magna's required statistical template.
- Update allocation templates and prepare all corresponding entries.
- Prepare journal entries for all banking transactions including cash receipts and payments, and processing payment applications within ESE's accounting software.
- Prepare wire transfer requests as needed.
- Provide support to the Accounting Department & Staff, including various month-end tasks such as Inter-company statements and confirmations, journal entries and financial reports.
- Prepare weekly cash flow and report to Corporate Treasury using an online system, Integrity.
- Prepare and accumulate all month end account reconciliations, including balance sheets and bank reconciliations.
- Processes and audits all expense reports through Concur, Magna's electronic system for capturing, submitting, and approving of expenses, including tracking of travel incentives
Key Responsibilities (Cont).
- Manages corporate cell phone bills (ATT and Verizon) and Diner's club cards.
- Assist in other areas of accounting, as needed, including accounts payable, cost accounting, and accounts receivable.
- Assist in preparing annual audit and tax packages, including preparation of ESE's year end CMF (Controller Model File).
- Manage and update mapping between ESE's local accounting system and HFM (Hyperion Financial Management).
- Perform other duties as may be assigned by Controller or Director of Accounting.
- Prepare and distribute year end 1099's to appropriate entities.
- Organize accounting storage area and send/recall boxes from storage.

- Education/Skills/Special Knowledge - Bachelors Degree in Accounting. Good working knowledge and familiarity with Solomon (Microsoft Dynamics accounting software). Working knowledge of Excel and Word. Good communication skills, effective organizational skills and must be detail oriented.
- Experience - 5-10 years of experience in similar accounting position. Automotive experience preferred. Comfortable working individually, or with a team, in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
- Physical Demands/Work Environment - Normal amount of sitting or standing, average mobility to move around an office environment, able to conduct normal amount of work at a computer. Minimal travel.
