Sr. Accountant - Accounting

Favor is looking for a Senior Accountant who has a passion for working at high-growth companies, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has had experience owning a variety of accounting activities on a small team. You will get to work with team members and executives across the company, gain exposure to accounting for new contracts and initiatives, and contribute to process improvements and automation opportunities in your areas. This role reports to the Accounting Manager and is a hybrid role based in Austin, Texas.

What You'll Do

• Own the Accounts Payable (AP) process, including managing the AP inbox, onboarding vendors, entering invoices, reviewing employee expense reports, and assessing accounting coding and sales and use tax treatment
• Collaborate with the Legal and business teams to review new contracts for billing terms and determine appropriate accounting
• Oversee daily cash activity and reconcile bank accounts
• Complete monthly close processes, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statement analyseis in a variety of areas
• Work with stakeholders to understand spend, provide insight for forecasting, and prepare reporting and other ad hoc requests 
• Collaborate with our parent company H-E-B on tax and intercompany accounting

Skills You Have

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting
• 4+ years of progressive operational accounting experience, preferably within a high-growth environment 
• Direct experience performing non-routine AP work, contract review, and accounting treatment determination, including setting up prepaid expense schedules and recording accrual entries 
• Good command of the English language to be able to clearly communicate with stakeholders and vendors 
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and presentation of data
• Experience with Bill.com and QuickBooks Online is a plus
