Sr. Accountant (Accounts Payable)

We are seeking a Sr. Accountant to oversee associated expense areas (Accounts Payable and Payroll) impacting Octane’s financial statements. This role is responsible for developing process and controls ensuring accurate expenses reporting and reconciliation of associated general ledger accounts.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for preparing and posting accounts payable journal entries and ensuring payables and associated expenses are appropriately recorded.
• Partner with People Team to ensure that the necessary data and reporting is received to record payroll related accounting entries including 401k, Safe Harbor, Benefits, and Sales Commission by department.
• Assist in the continued implementation of the company’s internal developed software process.
• Support month-end and year-end close process around reconciling AP, Accruals, Prepaids, Fixed Assets, Intangibles.
• Assist with internal financial reporting and variance analysis over assigned areas of responsibility.
• Monitors and analyzes department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Ownership of general ledger classification and coding in conjunction with the FPA team.
• Manage AP related platforms – Abacus, BILL, Trip Actions, Brex, CapitalOne, American Express and identify automation or consolidation opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration – Accounting or Finance
• 3+ plus years of overall general accounting experience.
• Experience with MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Understanding of NetSuite and FloQast a plus.
• CPA, CPA-candidate a plus.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and organizational skills
• Must work with attention to detail.

Compensation: The role described above offers a base salary of $70,000 to $100,000.  Your offer will be based on the alignment of your qualifications with the requirements of the job and internal equity.  In addition to the above-mentioned salary, Total Rewards include a stock option package, and benefits as outlined below.
