Sr. Accountant, External Reporting and Technical Accounting

Databricks is looking for a Senior to join our fast-growing External Reporting and Technical Accounting team! Reporting to the Senior Manager of External Reporting and Technical Accounting, you will play a hybrid role in the technical accounting and financial reporting process, including researching accounting and SEC topics, preparing accounting position memos, preparing schedules to support internal and external reporting requirements and drafting financial statements. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as FP&A, Accounting Operations, Equity Administration and Tax.

The impact you will have:

• Partner with teams to compile information in the preparation of quarterly financial statements, including statement of cash flows.
• Draft financial statement disclosures.
• Draft technical accounting position memorandum around transactions and special projects.
• Assist in drafting the accounting policy manual.
• Research and benchmark US GAAP and SEC requirements to ensure that we follow regulatory requirement and industry best practices.
• Prepare fluctuation analysis for financial statement line items to identify quarterly and annual trends.
• Support the annual audit and quarterly review activities with external auditors.
• Stay current with changes in accounting standards and financial reporting requirements.
• Communicate complex accounting topics to the senior manager and team and take ownership of specific assigned areas.

What we look for:

• A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license required
• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, or Finance-related field
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience; combined experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred) and in a corporate accounting role
• Experience with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements
• Experience in public companies and SaaS technology business
• Excellent verbal and written skills, including collaboration with other teams
• Experience in researching complex accounting topics and structuring accounting memos
• Experience and success in a hypergrowth environment
• GSuite and Excel skills (maintaining complex spreadsheets and employing complex formulas)
