Sr. Advanced Embedded Engineer

Job Description

Resideo is currently seeking a Sr. Advanced Embedded Engineer to be apart of a team that develops firmware for a variety of embedded products. You will create projects and technical reports as required and help define product architecture as needed. You will participate in the schematic/layout review process as well as test and evaluate prototypes from initial engineering samples to mass production. You will help maintain firmware servers and develop tools for internal use, including scripts and basic hardware interfaces. Aid in the design and development of equipment and systems, and redesign of existing systems to fulfill the need of Resideo's customers.

JOB DUTIES:

• Develop and maintain customized Embedded Linux distribution running on in-house designed hardware, including U-Boot and Linux Kernel porting and creating rootfs with Yocto.
• Creation of instructional technical manuscripts
• Setup and maintain CI/CD Pipeline, include Build Farm Management, Automated Testing, Auto Deployment, etc.
• Design firmware that meets industry cybersecurity standard, implement security features like Secure-Boot, Code-Signing, Data Encryption and Secure Communication.

YOU MUST HAVE:

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science or Electric Engineering
• 5+ years of working experience in Embedded Linux development, focusing on Linux Kernel Development and root file-system customization
• Deep knowledge and hands-on experience with Yocto build system
• Fluent with at least one of the following programming language, C/C++/python/rust/go
• Experience with peripherals and protocols such as UART, SPI, I2c, PCM, V4l, LCD, Ethernet, WiFi, Bluetooth, etc.
• Deep understand of git
• Experience with docker
• Ability to read hardware schematics and datasheets

• In compliance with applicable law, Resideo provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be performed in New York State. Actual compensation is influenced by various factors, including, but not limited to, skills, experience, the specific office location, and pay differences based on the local labor market. The expected base salary range for this role in New York State is $129,988 Min-$ 216,646 Max.
