The Sr. AI Engineer is responsible for designing fine-tuning and deploying advanced AI models to solve real-world business challenges. You will focus on implementing scalable systems using large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs) while optimizing pre-trained models for production use cases. In this role you’ll collaborate closely with peers to build robust AI pipelines perform model evaluation and continuously improve system performance. You’ve taken ownership of technical solutions mentored junior engineers and delivered high-quality AI products in past roles. With a deep understanding of machine learning techniques model optimization and scalable AI infrastructure you will contribute to creating innovative reliable systems that drive business impact. What you’ll be doing:

• Lead the design development and deployment of large-scale production systems leveraging large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs)

• Fine-tune and optimize pre-trained models such as GPT-4 OpenAI Whisper CLIP or similar for specific business needs

• Develop efficient pipelines for data preprocessing model training and deployment in production environments

• Design scalable APIs and infrastructure to integrate LLMs and VLMs into real-world applications

• Continuously monitor evaluate and improve model performance ensuring alignment with business objectives and user needs

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including product managers data scientists and software engineers to deliver AI-driven features and solutions

• Stay up to date with advancements in AI/ML particularly in LLMs and VLMs and identify opportunities for innovation and improvement

Qualifications to be successful in this role:

• Have 5+ years of experience in machine learning engineering AI development or a related field

• Have 3+ years of hands-on experience working with large language models (LLMs) and vision-language models (VLMs) including fine-tuning and deploying models such as GPT BERT CLIP or ViT

• Have experience building scalable AI pipelines for training evaluation and deployment in production environments

• Are skilled in model optimization techniques such as quantization pruning and knowledge distillation to reduce latency and improve scalability

• Have a strong understanding of MLOps best practices including CI/CD pipelines model versioning and deployment workflows

• Are comfortable conducting performance monitoring and using tools for logging debugging and evaluating AI models in production

• Possess strong analytical skills to assess model performance interpret metrics and recommend improvements

• Have a Bachelor’s Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science Machine Learning Artificial Intelligence or a related field

• Stay up to date with advancements in AI research and technologies applying the latest findings to improve existing systems

The reasonably estimated salary for this role at MyFitnessPal ranges from $140000 - $170000 . Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate’s skills qualifications and experience.
