Sr. Application Analyst
Job Description
Fluidra’s looking for an SR Application Analyst to join our team at our Specialty Products Facility in West Valley City, UT.
WHAT YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE
The SR Application Analyst will develop, expand, and improve the applications that support the core business functions. The role will focus on supporting and expanding our core applications and ongoing maintenance, administration, change management, and continuous improvement of our current applications, in particular the Microsoft Dynamics Nav ERP. This candidate will serve as the primary point of contact for all application-related errors and questions and work with functional team members to resolve errors and maintain minimal downtime. In addition, this candidate will extract data from the ERP application database to create business-specific reports.
Additionally, you will:
- Contribute to the full life cycle of Microsoft Dynamics Nav application development. Including design, coding, testing, and production support of internal and external facing applications
- Administrate the Microsoft Dynamics Nav environment to ensure functionality and performance and maintain a support structure that resolves any issues quickly with expert service to users
- Create and maintain effective application documentation and user support materials
- Maintain strong Data Governance policies and practices ensuring high data quality and integrity
- Understand data flow and integrations between multiple applications and expand and refine scalable solutions across all systems
- Research new methodologies and solutions to meet our growing needs and ensure we stay nimble and competitive
- Develop and implement timelines to achieve business targets
- Conduct, research, and test ERP functionality
- Develop and train the business on system capabilities to ensure users are maximizing full systems capability
- Assist with problem resolution which includes working service requests with 3rd party vendors
- Evaluate emerging technology and industry trends and innovations, and assess potential impacts.
- Test and support the deployment of customizations, custom objects, new functionality, and modules based on evolving business needs
- Meet with business leaders, decision makers, and end users to define business requirements and system goals while understanding the systems upstream and downstream impacts
- Monitor end-user usage of systems and track performance while working with other departments to ensure success in reaching their goals
- Assist IT teammates in analyzing requirements and technical solutions to meet evolving business needs
- Provide internal, on-going system/technical support to users, including training and maintaining proper system access for all roles
- Serve as the primary point of contact for all application-related errors and questions
- Create business-related reports using tools such as SQL, Jet Reports, PowerBI, and SSRS Report Builder as requested by the leadership team
- Manage warehouse technology, including handheld devices, tablets, etc.
- Other duties and tasks assigned by supervisor.
Skills and Qualifications:
- 3-5 years demonstrated experience in Microsoft Dynamics Nav or similar ERP required.
- Strong Data Analysis and Modeling experience and understanding of data structures
- Strong understanding of SQL.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. BI tools experience desired, Power BI or Jet Reports preferred
- Experience working with C/AL or AL preferred.
- Familiarity working with Python, JavaScript, JSON, HTML/CSS, XML, Powershell, and PHP a bonus.
- Process Improvement Skills: Ability to analyze and optimize defined areas or processes within a cross-functional organization
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills, including the ability to create organized and informative reports, as well as comprehensive, accurate documentation
- Must be able to problem solve technical issues, multitask, and work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent organizational and motivational skills with the ability to balance, prioritize, and manage multiple projects of differing priorities and deadlines
- Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
EDUCATION
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or equivalent. Additional experience with Microsoft Dynamics Nav in an applicable business environment preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, employees are regularly required to read and write, sit, walk within the facility to access file cabinets, documents, stand; talk or hear, both in person and by telephone; use hands repetitively to finger, handle, feel or operate standard office equipment; reach with hands and arms; and lift up to 10 pounds. They also occasionally move objects weighing up to 20 lbs., and sometimes, but rarely, up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and the ability to adjust focus.
