Position Summary
The Sr. Automation & Technology Design Architect is responsible for the overall requirements and planning for the technology design, standards, and software automation suite/platform within Iron Mountain Digital Operations. They will ensure products and platforms are architected to a defined best practice and will be responsible for driving technology automation into digital operations. They will establish a unifying vision for digital operation's technology solutions as they progress from conception through implementation and mature through the solution life cycle. This is a senior role that is critical for Iron Mountain to maintain the strength of our digital services and deliver on the promise of our brand as we bring our customers forward into a new world of digital information management.
The individual in this role will define and align functional needs and requirements from the Digital Operations team for the Digital Operations Automation Platform by developing specifications, requirements and designs. They are responsible for design workshops, technology/market research and testing of potential solutions. They need to capture and document all requirements including Workflows, User Interface, Data Architecture, Integrations, Audit & Compliance. The leader in this role will work closely with Product Management, Engineering, Operations and across Information Technology to ensure we are discovering key opportunities for automation and improvement within Digital Operations. They will help define an architecture future state that aligns with business strategy, manages gaps, risk, and opportunities.
The Sr. Automation & Technology Design Architect will assist in the development of short, medium, and long term plans to achieve strategic objectives. They will interact across functional areas with senior leaders to ensure objectives are met. This will require the ability to gain acceptance of plans and will require top-tier architecture skills to achieve significant business impact through technology driven solutions.
Responsibilities
- Capturing all of the requirements outlined by the Digital Operations and ascertained through personal observation of existing processes
- Defining potential automation solutions and impact
- Helping the Digital Operations prioritize requirements based upon impact
- Ensuring a high quality design documents are published
- Ensuring that the requirements and designs are agreed by product and engineering and prioritized into the development roadmap
- Works with the Digital Operations team and internal iron mountain teams to ensure that the solution requirements are defined, are deliverable and that they deliver on the design objectives
- Development and alignment of global strategic plans, priorities, capabilities and multi-year plans
Core Skills
- Good working knowledge of the Iron Mountains platforms or other capture, RPA, content services/enterprise content management platforms such as Kofax, Nuxeo, OnBase, Alfresco, Opentext, FileNet, etc.
- Deep understanding of document / data capture and digitization tools including OCR and AI/ML for documents and unstructured content
- Be able to create flow charts and functional design documents from Digital Operations requirements.
- Able to visualize an application design from user inputs, able to communicate that application into a functional design.
- Ability to translate complex business strategies and needs into strategic priorities that leverage industry trends and emerging technologies while integrating existing architectures, platforms and data.
- Ability to consolidate complex existing environmental descriptions into an existing Architecture for a current state architecture and the development of an ongoing future state Architecture.
- Proven record of accomplishment re-platforming highly-complex and large-scale legacy systems for global customers.
- Must have strong experience in all aspects of commercial product development with a strong focus on technologies and best practices, including web, mobile and working in the delivery of omni-channel customer experiences
- Experience with SOA, design patterns, web services technologies, APIs, Applications, Application Ecosystem, and Micro API's.
- Strong understanding of web services standards and related technologies (HTTP, XML, JSON, REST, SOAP, WS*) and authentication methods such as OAuth and SAML
- Experience with data integration, data lake approaches, data architecture and ETL tools
- Experience in architecting solutions with information security built-in and that account for and incorporate relevant security governance in the ongoing lifecycle of design and engineering
- Must possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy; a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.
Secondary Skills
- Working knowledge of Gsuite tools and software development tools such as jira, service now, github, visio & lucidcharts.
- Application, UI and UX development experience.
- Good understanding of Content Services Platforms and the marketplace.
- Good understanding of Enterprise IT architecture and landscape.
- Working knowledge of cloud & enabling technologies such as JavaScript, JSON, Python, Rest API, XML etc.
- Good understanding of agile software development.
- Knowledge of application integration, single sign on, email services etc.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Experience in multi-facility, international organizations with diverse multi-cultures. A hands-on leader; broadly shares responsibility and accountability of both routine and important tasks and decisions.

Qualifications
- Degree in technology or related field and 10 years + work experience in product and/or technology architecture including strategy development and operations in a large, globally distributed organization.
- Demonstrate ability and experience executing projects using agile methodologies.
- Experience creating and presenting professional Digital Operations-facing documentation and demonstrating outstanding negotiation and collaboration facilitation.
- Have ability and confidence working in a fast-paced and dynamic environment that requires self-directed initiative.

Reasonably expected salary range: $112,300.00 - $149,700.00
