Sr Backend Developer

Cognizant is looking for a dynamic Sr Backend developer with experience developing knowledgeable software systems and applications. The individual will work with product owners, domain guides, and product managers to craft and deliver customer value. The individual in this role will ensure that standard processes are followed, and that quality code is delivered. Lastly, Cognizant needs an individual that loves to collaborate with other technologists and enjoys mentoring and coaching.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities: • Understand critical / complex product requirements (functional and non-functional). • Create a low-level design document (which captures class level diagram and attributes mapped to the class and sequence diagram) based on the understanding of high-level design. • Seek review inputs from the architect and incorporate the same. • Create POCs to identify the feasibility of new technologies / products and share the findings with the architecture team. • Build optimized modules in terms of performance without affecting functionality. • Under the guidance of Architects create high level software design (HLSD) documents. • Establish design standards and deliver solutions which meets product's functional and non-functional requirements. • Provide technical expertise to resolve challenging programming and design problems. • Participate in architecture / code reviews and eliminate implementation problems early in development cycle. • Provide technical guidance to the team to resolve complex technical issues.

Required Qualifications • Associate should have 10+ hands on experience on Web Development technology on Java/J2EE, micro service, spring boot and should have good communication skill. • Associate should be enough to understand the existing Java/J2EE, Java Script, Web Codes and enhance the application based on the requirement. • Associate having knowledge on Agile, SQL, Java, and J2EE will be added advantage. • Associate should be working out of Pleasanton. • Associate should coordinate with client SME, Onsite tech lead and offshore technical team including PST & IST Time Zone for development. • Associate should attend the daily/weekly scrum call to provide the status update.

• Associate should be coordinating with client and sharing the same the details to offshore development

Work Location: 2 days a week from office (Pleasanton, CA and Plano, TX)
