What you will do:

Come join Open Blue Enterprise Security team and be a part of our digital transformation journey! We are an exciting "startup" within Johnson Controls and our mission it to make the world a better place through safe, secure, healthy, sustainable buildings and smart cities.

We are currently looking for a Senior Back-End Engineer to be in charge of defining Open Blue Enterprise Security strategy and development activities. You will be working closely with software development and testing teams to design, implement and optimize Open Blue Business Insights and Security Intelligence products and services.

How you will do it:

• Work with internal (e.g., sales, supports, etc.) and external clients in defining new products in addition to supporting existing products.
• Scope and document technical work based on business requirements.
• Design, implement, and document highly scalable and fault-tolerant applications.
• Prototype applications to evaluate new technologies as appropriate.
• Enhance the performance of existing applications and services.
• Work with a large team of engineers in a cross-functional environment implementing high-quality products.
• Provide status of your efforts on a daily (Standup, Scrum) and weekly (Team Huddle) basis.

What we look for:

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, EE, Mathematics or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years software engineering experience with a solid understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC).
• Must have strong CS fundamentals, software architecture, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly proficient with Java or C#.NET, databases, and cloud services.
• Experience building RESTful or GraphQL APIs.
• Experience with containers and container orchestration technologies.
• Experience managing and deploying servers in the cloud (Azure, AWS, GCP).
• Experience with source code version control, in particular git.
• Working knowledge of rapid development concepts with Scrum/Agile.
• Capable of working individually, or with a large team comprised of multiple disciplines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Facilitation and team-building skills at all levels.
• Ability to influence, train, and mentor junior engineers.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Proficiency with Angular and Linux
