Sr. Backend Engineer

Job Summary

As Sr. Backend Engineer at Veo, you will shape and deploy the framework that supports our fleet of electric vehicles. You will optimize our current micro-services systems. You’ll work closely with our other engineers, designers, and data scientists. We’re looking for people with a passion for sustainability who want to see their work positively impact their community. Responsibilities and Duties

• Develop, integrate, and deploy Veo's backend system
• Design an elegant system that serves different features
• Optimize and maintain current DevOps pipelines 
• Support system testing, new version releases, and upgrades
• Troubleshoot and debug to maintain our current backend system
• Improve reliability, scalability, and stability of our current backend system

Qualifications and Skills

• BS or MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• 3+ years experience in the software development sector/technology industry
• Fluent in Java with a deep understanding of SpringBoot and Kubernetes
• Experienced in GitLab CI/CD process
• Familiarity with AWS is a plus
• Great insight on system design and object-oriented programming
• Deep understanding of algorithms and design pattern is a huge plus
• Logical thinker and effective communicator with a clean and efficient coding style
• Cooperative and collaborative working style with other individuals and development teams
