Job Description:

As a Senior Big Data QA Engineer, you will be responsible for creation, execution and maintenance of QA automation scripts for enterprise big data assets. You will collaborate with delivery teams to ensure the highest quality of data is made available for applications/products. Reporting to Senior Leader, Data Quality, this role requires you to analyze, test and build tools to meet the data quality validation needs for a cloud platform-based application. A QA mindset in being able to create test cases for verifying the data scenarios that meets business needs is an absolute must. A solid critical thinker with strong programming skills and sound grounding in data quality will be successful in this role.

Job Duties

• Test, analyze, and build tools to meet the data quality validation needs for a cloud platform - based application
• Create test cases for verifying the data scenarios that meets business requirements
• Create automation/scripting/frameworks as needed for assigned QA deliverables
• Support triaging of production issues as applicable
• Facilitate UAT testing as needed
• Execute test cases and capture testing artifacts and log defects
• Communicate testing findings/observations to stakeholders
• Other duties as required

Job Qualifications:

• Overall 5-7 years of experience in Quality Assurance of which at least 4+ years of experience in test automation development
• Expert Python Programming
• Strong in SQL, PL/SQL fundamentals
• Good to have experience testing API using Postman
• Experience in writing unit tests for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability
• Deep expertise with Spark, Hive and Google Cloud Platform (preferred)
• Exposure to handling very large data sets (strongly preferred)
• Ability to work independently within a quickly changing environment with strict timelines
• Excellent organizational, troubleshooting and analytical skills required
• Proven communication and documentation skills
