Sr. Business Insights Analyst

Job Summary:

Supports CIBAA team and leads analysis to drive our brands and categories forward. Specifically, database management and operations of our point of sale and consumer panel data are essential in ensuring data quality. This role will require heavy use of multiple data sources and a robust analytical skill set, providing Marketing, Innovation, and Sales with insights to drive Blue Diamond's in-market performance goals. Job Description:

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Proficient in syndicated data sources, including point of sale and consumer panel data (IRI and/or Nielsen) to drive business decisions for Marketing, Sales, and Innovation.
• Performs analyses using POS data from IRI, Nielsen, SPINS, and Retailer portals in illuminating the Why behind data shifts with minimal supervision.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with the capability to appropriately define issues and questions from the data.
• Ability to structure and synthesize own analysis sufficiently and identify implications proactively.
• Ability to think creatively and connect multiple data sources to illuminate the Why and So What behind the data.
• Assesses current trends and opportunities that connect back to shifts in the point of sale data.
• Functions as an expert across Blue Diamond Grower categories which include Snack Almonds, Non-Dairy Beverage, Crackers and Flour.
• Partners closely with the Innovation team on sizing up new categories and opportunities for BDG to potentially enter into.
• Lead and own New Item In-Market Performance Tracking to assess the success or failure of new product launches.
• Lead the new item submission process to ensure all new items are captured within the BDG database via the QA process with the IRI Operations Team.
• Manages the update of Weekly Reporting and Monthly Reports to signal the business's health.
• Leads the update of Blue Diamond's Ai Platform (ALMA) with the weekly and monthly reporting and ad-hoc specific business analytical projects.
• Supports the Business Analytics Manager in reporting needs and ad-hoc projects.
• Collaborates and provides ongoing and ad-hoc reporting needs across multiple departments within the organization (Marketing, Innovation, Category Management, Shopper, Finance, Supply Chain) and external partners/vendors).
• Build a strong relationship with the IRI Team for day-to-day data operations and business insights management.
• Participates in preparing for quarterly business reviews, annual operating plans, and 3-year strategic planning.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum level of education required

• Bachelor's Degree

Minimum number of year(s) of experience required in addition to education plus type(s) of functional experience

• 4 years of Business / Consumer Insights or brand marketing experience

Total minimum number of years of experience required in lieu of degree (if applicable)

• 6 years of Business / Consumer Insights or brand marketing experience

Other job requirements (e.g. certifications/licenses, CPG experience, work overtime/weekends, etc.)

• Required to travel up to 10% of the time
• Expert in working experience with syndicated sales data software experience (i.e., IRI or Nielsen)
• Project management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities in situations.
• Ability to provide insights and learnings across the organization
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (e.g. Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Knowledgeable about Marketing, Sales, Databases, Project Management

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCES (Specialized education, specific software experience, etc.)

• Direct CPG or Retailer experience in Business Analytics/Intelligence, Business Insights, or Category Management.
• Syndicated sales and panel data software & metrics experience is preferred (i.e., IRi or Nielsen).
• A good communicator who can develop remote relationships with team members and cross-functional partners.
• High level of comfort and speed utilizing Excel, PowerPoint, and other MS Office tools
• A high sense of urgency, highly organized with an attention to detail.
• Advanced computer skills in MS Office (e.g., Excel, PPT, Word)
• Presentation and storytelling skills and should be comfortable presenting in front of management and stakeholders
• Ability to work with agility and pivot in a fast-moving environment
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLookups, Macros, etc.)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Office environment demands including frequent speaking both in person and over the phone; writing, reading files, reports, and PC screen. Prolonged sitting at computer terminal. Regular vision concentration for reading and checking reports, forms and data entry.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Occasionally exposed to wet and humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and high noise levels in the work environment.
