As our Customer Support Organization continues to grow and expand globally, we are looking to build a best in class Customer Support Quality Assurance Program. The Senior Business Risk Analyst will provide governance and oversight of Marqeta’s diverse Consumer Card Programs as well as supporting Marqeta’s Risk Operations, Call Center, and Production Support teams. Â
The Sr Business Risk Analyst will be expected to help support and execute critical testing and monitoring plans in accordance with our compliance policies. Other key activities include leading regulatory reporting efforts for the customer support and risk operations teams as well as our programs. They will be responsible for communicating directly with clients and internal compliance, legal and operations teams in addition to gathering required data, performing trend analysis and communicating findings per bank and regulatory requirements.Â
This role is critical to ensuring that Marqeta and its clients are in compliance with the legal requirements for launching Consumer and Commercial Card programs either in the U.S. or abroad. The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in leading independent oversight teams, an understanding of risk and control frameworks, in addition to the network rules (Visa, MasterCard) and Consumer Financial Protection laws surrounding card transactions.Â
What you'll do- Conduct tests and inspections of processes against policies and procedures as well as regulatory requirements, ensuring alignment between internal metrics, regulatory expectations and organizational priorities
- Act as the primary contact for risk reporting, monitoring and coordinating quality and risk reporting activities between multiple bank and program partners
- Execute monthly risk reporting, gathering data and collecting required information from various stakeholders, systems and sources.
- Report performance and track areas of improvements, both internally and externally
- Perform trend analysis on evaluation data, provide feedback and recommendations for improvement
- Coordinate with other specialists to continuously improve and evolve the risk reporting oversight and quality function, including the development of new oversight functions
- Establish strong relationships, and a feeling of inclusiveness within the CSO organization through cross-functional alignmentÂ
- Clearly articulate challenges and recommendations to all levels of stakeholders.Â
- 3+ years experience in an independent oversight/risk operations role, or similar experience in a risk management/compliance environment
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business, economics, communications, statistics, finance or related field or equivalent experience
- Experience working directly with or supporting Clients and Operations teams within payments/banking or working directly with regulators in the US and either Canada, Asia Pacific, UK/EU, and in particular customer regulators and banking regulators.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Reg E, Reg Z, Consumer Financial Protection laws, risks and controls implementation
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven ability to prioritize, manage, and deliver multiple, complex projects on time
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with ability to analyze trends, uncover opportunities, and make recommendations for improvement
- Ability to create a vision and translate it into detailed and prioritized plans, with ongoing action and tracking over various timeframes
